    Herbie: Fully Loaded

...Did this movie creep up on anyone? Herbies' revival is'nt a suprise given we've seen the revivals of many other commoditys, but...theatrically, this movie might very well be a financial bomb. As a direct-to-DVD release or TV Movie, it'd probably be worth a decent entertaining look if you're bored, but from what I see here, it's another listless racing movie with a compact scope, and less bravado like the efforts from "Herbie Goes Banananas", and what a surprise, MORE female leads...

Yeah really, why make a new movie when you can just remake classic ones?

    Not that it's animation, but...

Hey, it's got Lohan. That's at least worth a... reading of the back of the DVD.

Your Milage May vary.. Check the Owners Manual.

Actually Considering that Disney does own the rights for Herbie and this is just a rehash of the 5 or so previous Herbe Movies that have been produced already. it's just the fact that this shows that theis 1963 VW Bug still could have a lot of Milage left in it.. provided that it were animation.. but since this is a Live action Movie with just special effects and perhaps a small Dash of Animation (for some of the Schematics of Ol' #53), well Then I would hardly call this animation.. so In effect meh.. your milage may vary and since the Moderators may consider this not to be animation, why don't we just close this thread and consider it a Dead Battery...

What harm was this doing? Honestly, if the mods had thought it had no merit, it'd have closed this already, or moved it into the Entertainment Forum, there pretty quick on closing threads they deem inapproriate, they don't take hours in doing so. So what call is it for you to request this to be closed? Herbie, much like Power Rangers, is a live action cartoon, so it can be argued it has a place here

If you want to get through this with me in a reasonable manner, by all means P.M me, my problems with you are increasing ten fold at the moment and I want to defuse the situation before it gets remotley worse, I respect some of your contributions and don't want personal issues to ruin or aggrovate any future threads on ANY subject

It may not be animated but it is still a movie, so thats where it shall go.

The movie hasn't even come out yet, so I expect there will be some discussion concerning it as we near the release date.

I don't see a reason for the thread to be closed.

Good lord another one. I watched the Love Bug remake with the great Bruce Campbell in the late 90s and wondered what the point was (aside from having the great Bruce Campbell). This one seems more "hip" by kicking the great Bruce Campbell and having this young girl run the show... oh well, whatever kiddies like these days.. personally I'll watch the originals after a few drinks in the Easter holidays just for Herbie nostalgia, and Evil Dead II for Bruce Campbell at all other drinking times. A far better way to enjoy both.

Was that the ABC Sunday TV movie that made an origin for Herbie and where an evil twin was made? I was in middle school/early high school and was before I discovered Bruce Campbell, so I can't remember if he was in that or not. ALTHOUGH I've never been good with learning actors names and what movies they were in.

I remembering enjoying it, and thought it was cool they got the orinigal actor from the first movie come and reprise his role so the character could meet Herbie again. The plot is of course silly, including Herbie's origin, and the evil twin car is both cool and corny at the same time.

But HONESTLY, how can you take a Herbie movie seriously?

"Entertainment Tonight" said it best...Recent Lohan press has overshadowed the movie...What with the rumors of being 'fully loaded' during the filming? Loosing Weight too Fast? Being in a car crash from paparrazi..?

Yes all those things have overshadowed the movie... Maybe Disney should have used another starlet who's not so controversal yet.

The fact that Disney is putting in money to digitally reduce Lindsey's bust to not offend families is enough to proof that they should have casted a more non-controversial starlet.

Seriously? That's like Lohan's defining feature.

I just saw previous of this movie the other day on TV, and I had noticed that Michael Keaton is in it. Poor Michael. It's really sad, because there used to be a time when he was a big name in Hollywood starring in great movies like Beetlejuice, The Dream Team, Batman, Batman Returns, My Life, Jackie Brown. Now he's doing garbage like First Daughter, White Noise, must I continue?

It would have been nice if Michael Keaton had been given a cameo appearance in Batman Begins, but then again, he's too good for that anyway. He should work with Tim Burton again and star in the next movie he directs. I think that is what he needs to reclaim his stardom and get his career moving again.
I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quiet extensively. I lived through the black plague and I had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the "Exorcist" about a hundred and sixty seven times, and it keeps gettin funnier every single time I see it! Not to mention the fact that you're talken to a dead guy! Now what do you think!? You think I'm qualified?

    ~Michael Keaton as "Betelgeuse"
