    5 Sci-Fi Movies Begging for a Remake-The Remake

    Like This Thread!
Since I blew my first thread, I thought I'd remake it. So my new list:

Tron- Good story and good special effects, but it's not as good as possible.
Daredevil- It's a good movie, could be better.
National Treasure- The plot was phenomenal, the execution...
Close Encounters of a Third Kind- Now I'm not refering to another ET, that holds up, Close Encounters does but it loses me.
Pokemon 4Ever- Pokemon movies are always enjoyable, but besides the boy being Proffesor Oak it 4Ever wasn't.

    So your list?
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Um, NATIONAL TREASURE isn't a sci-fi movie. And besides, it's fine.

I agree about TRON, though. I think a remake would be nice. I know it has a cult following, but I found it, well, rather crappy. A remake of BLACK HOLE would be good if they could make it entertaining as well. And I wouldn't mind a remake of LOGAN'S RUN.

The only thing about a TRON remake is that I don't think they make Doors* that big anymore.

I think that it's time to remake Short Circuit. Debra Messing and Thomas Haden Church of Ned and Stacey are getting a lot of press right now and would be great in the roles of Stephanie Speck and Dr. Newton Crosby.
Who would be a good voice for a new Johnny Five?

Not as fine as it could be and it fits in the Sci-Fiish category.

I thought it was fine. I don't see why so many people complain about it. It was perfectly fine to me. And I definitely don't see anything sci-fiish about it. Nothing.

Is progress finally moving ahead? I first read about a remake several years ago, but heard nothing much since.

Just action, archeological, historical makes it a little bit sci-fi. Anyways it moved too quick, little intrigue until the climax, Cage wasn't a great hero, and the ending didn't entirley fit. The plot was phenomonial, but the execution needed work.

These are very recent. Why is there a need for a remake? There are aleady too many remakes, but at least the studios have the sense to wait 20 years after the original release.
Do you want sequels? That would make sense.

Personally, I think this film is fine the way it is.

    As for National Treasure...
    a) As it has been stated, it's not a sci-fi film.
    b) It was just released last Thanksgiving. Isn't that a touch...soon for a remake?

Like I said in the earlier thread, a Black Hole remake would be terrific.

Deffinately! I loved that movie but I think with a better script and direction it would have been better.

The other movies... Nah. Tron was good in its own right, not to mention being ground breaking (first movie to use CG). If anything, Id like to see a sequal to it.

As for what you said Stewie youre right there are... especially of the wrong ones! They try to remake movies that were already good to begin with. They should try remaking movies that were bad instead!

One movie mentioned that does not need a remake is Close Encounters. I think the movie looks and feels great after all this time and has held up quite well. Now, if you get lost in the story, I am not sure what to say, but it's really not confusing at all.

While not a movie, it was made for TV, and my pick is The Martian Chronicles.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

The Star Wars prequel trilogy. Or the Forbin Project. Or The Day the Earth Stood Still.
