Evil will always win because good is dumb.
Well, for starters, that quote? Not what he said in the movie. What he said was one of the best lines, though.
The only reasons I saw this movie were to see the new Batman trailer (didn't happen) and because I saw that Dracula would be the main bad guy. I must say, I wasn't disappointed. I mean, some of the acting was kind of...eh...but I found this movie much better than the previous two.
However, I'm supposed to see this with a friend tomorrow night. Think I'll suggest Ocean's 12.
Three stars.
O12? Why? 11 was nothing but a borefest.Originally Posted by Damien

And why did you just go to see this for the Batman trailer? You could've just downloaded the trailer for Quicktime or something.

Well, I went to see Blade Trinity tonight and as a big Blade fan I have to say I was a little disappointed.
Side note: Its 9:15 and I just looked up and saw the guy who plays Drake (Dracula) on some Fox show. Never noticed this guy a day before in my life now I have seen him twice in the same night. What a wild coincidence.
Back to Blade-
The Good
-The fight scenes were pretty decent but I wasn't as overblown with them as I was with the ones from the second movie.
-The weapons were nice each Blade movie always manages to add something new to his arsenal
-Abby Whistler I thought was a nice addition to the Blade universe as well as Hannibal King who really had some great lines and really gets beat badly this movie.
The Bad
-Blade doesn't even use his sword until the end of the movie. He's Blade he's supposed to pull that thing out on a regular bases. This was by far the least amount of screen time for the sword.
- I didn't care for the direction too much. I though Del Toro from the second movie really did a better job.
- They killed Whistler. I really liked Kris Kristofferson's character and they killed him (which I figured was coming). He did virtually nothing in this film anyway and the lack of his usual attitude and one liners was apparent.
-Drake (Dracula) wasn't the badass I was hoping for as a villain. He seemed to be really lacking any real drive and the fight with Blade didnt have that Nomac intensity like the second film.
In closing its hard to put my finger on it but this film wasn't as exciting to me as the last one was. I had higher hopes. Wesley's Blade still kicked butt however he was noticably less talkative in this film than the others it seemed to me. I'll give it a grade later.

Awesome movie! Funny as hell and Ryan Reynolds was perfect with his comedic timing. Snipes really hit the target on this one and Triple H was very good and Jessica Biel was well...athletic.I wasn't a huge fan of the 2nd but 3rd time is the charm.

It was an OK movie, with a few great nuances that I really liked.
1. Abi Whistler with the iPod. Awesomeness, but I have to say, I was rocking the iPod long before she was.
2. Hannibal King. Every line this guy had was gold. Pure gold.
3. Drake is the kind of villain that I like to see more. Not necessarily the explosive sociopath, but someone that, not to sound too Klingon, had a sense of so-called honor in fighting. And the absolute pwnification of goth kids.
I would have to give this a high 3. OK, with a few great moments, but nothing too. . awe-inspiring.

I liked the movie, not as fulfilling as the other two though. Drake wasn't the badass you would of hoped for. The last two villians easily blow Drake out the water. They seemed more "eviler". Drake was more....eh you woke me up for this? I'll tell you this though, Drake didn't seem like the villain you would use in a final movie.
And someone mentioned Blade's sword. Yeah, I was wondering what was up with the sword. In the first movie, it was like one of focual points (Don't remember if it was like that in Blade II, haven't seen it in two years). He used on a regular basis, but in this movie he used more of his hands than any weapon.
Let me add that I thought HHH did a good acting job. When I first heard he was going to be in the movie I was a little skeptical. He wont be winning any Oscar's but he was ok. The exchanges between him and Hannibal King were good.

For one, because I want to see the Batman trailer in theatres. Two, because I don't want to pay to see B3 again. Maybe someday in the Land of Far From Now. I only gave it three stars, not five.O12? Why? 11 was nothing but a borefest.
Not till it's been released online, and I didn't want to wait. Besides, that's not the only reason, as my previous post clearly states. Not only was Dracula the villain, but I actually did think the previews looked cool for it.And why did you just go to see this for the Batman trailer? You could've just downloaded the trailer for Quicktime or something.
JOHN DOE! Man, that was bugging me. I knew I'd seen him before.Side note: Its 9:15 and I just looked up and saw the guy who plays Drake (Dracula) on some Fox show. Never noticed this guy a day before in my life now I have seen him twice in the same night. What a wild coincidence.
It was probably the weakest installment of the Blade franchise but it was still a pretty fun movie. The reviews for this movie have been pretty scatching but it wasn't as bad as many made it out to be. The villian wasn't as strong as he could've been and plot was incoherent and weak for the most part. However the fight scenes were generally well done and there were some genuine laughs to be had here and there. Hannibal King was funny though he got pretty tired when his material fell flat. Abbigail was pure eye candy essentially. Nice to look at but brought nothing to the movie in the end. Not as excellent as Blade 2 but still a good ride.

Just saw it today, and let me say that I laughed my ASS OFF! Laughs all around, and great action! But what I thought killed it for me was Drake. It would've been good IMO if they went more into his bio or something, and anyone but me feel that the vampires in the Blade franchise seem more like creatures from another planet, rather than actual demons?
Maybe it's just me.

Well I saw it earlier today and while I thought it was ok, it didn't live up to my expectations at all. This was by far the weekest of the Blade movies and it's probabbly a good thing that there calling it quits now. Some things I liked though:
-Ryan Reynolds was hilarious and made the movie for me even though some of his material occasionally bombed.
-The fight scenes were great again and it was nice to see no more CGI stunt people.
-Jessica Biel was hot but I'm not really sure if here character brought much at all. She seemed like a second rate Buffy to me.
-Thought the scene of Dracula in the vampire shop was pretty funny as well.
However it did leave a big question mark open at the end with Blade which I wish they would of answered. Overall ***(out of 5).
My how things change in the creative process. As most of us Blade fans know, David Goyer's original idea pitch to New Line was to have it set 20 years in the future where vampires rule most of the world and humans live in enslavement camps. New Line went for it, but it was Goyer himself in the end who ditched the idea and came up with what we got now.
Also, Blade WAS going to die in the end, but somewhere along the lines, maybe Snipes himself, it was changed. Speaking of endings, check out a picture and explanation of a shot from the cut alternate ending where Abigail and Hannibal take on a WEREWOLF(?!) here. Maybe what the future holds for a possible Nightstalkers spin-off movie might hold? That alternate ending and 12 extra minutes will more than likely be on the already announced extended director's cut coming in 2005 sometime.
Now for my comments. Like others here, I liked it, but not as much as the other two. I also felt that for a "final" movie, using the Dracula character, man, he really didn't come off as the bad ass villian that he should have been. Drake's creature design though was really slick, but I didn't care for the big open mouths that he and the dogs had. We've already seen that in Blade 2.
Triple H and Ryan Renolds stole the movie!![]()
Parker Posey's character was REALLY weird. I didn't know what to think.
Now for the ending. What I don't get is since Drake was dead, how did he morph into Blade? I'm assuming it was something that Abigail, Hannibal, or Blade did to him?
Also, now that they used the virus on Drake, they now have a bio-weapon to take out all the vampires now?
And what is Blade now? Is he some sort of perfectly evolved vampire creature now? Blade replaces Drake? Drake said something about his "gift to him" before dying. I didn't get that.
As for Whistler, most of us know that there really wasn't anywhere else for Whistler's character to go but to die. I back that decision up 100% but I just wish it was handled better.
Now for David Goyer. His writing was great on the other two movies, but his writing this time lacked the vision of del Torro and Norrington to help bring that writing to life. For Goyer's first time directing, I gotta say not bad though. But some things just weren't explained well enough and fleshed out well enough. Also, with Wesley Snipes having creative control on this, I'm surprised that ending really wasn't explained better.
I'm now looking forward to the extended DVD. I don't really listen to commentaries except on the rare occasion for me, to try and get something answered on a really favorite movie. Goyer's commentary on this, especially at the end I am really looking forward to though.
While doing publicity for Blade:Trinity, Goyer has said there might be a possible Nightstalkers spin-off. As for more Blade he said that if this one does great business, we'll see what New Line wants. He would like to write it, but he said "I have no idea what a fourth Blade movie would even be about." The ending we got he said not only closed things in a way, but also left them open for possible more stories. We'll see. I don't know. They have the virus now, so bye-bye vampires.
If this is the end, it's been a great ride. I've had fun with these movies, and in each case, I'm glad they went all the way with the R rating on a Marvel comic adaption. Though we all know it's because Blade is not one of their most famous characters. R ratings sometimes are good for movies. In Blade's case, it made the experience a lot of fun.
The Clown Prince

Nice reveiw Clown Prince you captured a lot of what I felt about the movie. I dont think Blade is going to do good enough to warrent another movie and I am not too upset about that because although I am a big fan, Goyer is running low on material.Originally Posted by The Clown Prince
A Nightstalkers spin off would be interesting but I dont know how much support they will have for it. As a matter of fact Im not even sure I would go see it at the moment.
I look forward the Blade Trinity dvd. It will be interesting to see the added footage.I already own the first two so I might as well add the third to my collection.

To answer Clown Prince's question about the gift from Drake, Drake turned into Blade to give Blade time to escape from the FBI and then when the autopsy was going to be performed Drake dies then and turns into his regular human form.
"If the thought of it seems crazy, you were never crazy enough to begin with." -The Punisher
Man what a great movie this was. It was certainly better than the second one, but I'm going to have to wait until I watch the whole trilogy before I can decide whether or not I like it better than the first one. I'm waiting on a Trilogy Box Set before I buy any Blade DVDs.
The music just fit so well together, especially the techno stuff. I want the soundtrack now, but it will probably be just rap music as the first movie's soundtrack turned out to be.
The action scenes were just plain hot. I loved watching the martial arts and sword battles. Wesley Snipes has come a long way since the first Blade, at least I think so.
And the NightStalkers were great. Hannibal was just so freaking funny, I loved it. That is another thing this has against the other 2, some comedy parts, and they were very funny. I loved seeing the parts with the dogs, and his line "He hates me doesn't he?"
Then you have teh scene where Dracula walked into the vampire store. That was cool and freaky (the Drac Vibrator) at the same time. I don't think the girl deserved what she got though, but the guy did for being an ass. Oh well, it was cool. His demon form was just awesome, and I liked how it looked like the genetic vamps from Blade II.
I'm going to give this movie 4/5 stars. Why so low when I enjoyed it a lot? I don't know.Probably because they killed Whistler like nothing, and the detective dude just disappeared until the very end. That was a little dumb. He should have made at least one more appearance during the movie.
Evil will always win because good is dumb.
The soundtrack is more techno than rap so you'll probably like it. The detective lossed the case as soon as Blade was captured by the FBI then he got control as soon as superior officer was killed in the blood harvesting warehouse. Hope that cleared some stuff up.Originally Posted by Deadly Messiah

Dude: "I can't! They'll kill me!"
Blade: "Muther-- I'll kill you! I'll just enjoy it more!"
Not bad at all.
Not as good as Blade II, but still an entertaining film. The direction didn't seem to be as good as Blade II, but the story, acting and pacing matched.
It was helluva lot funnier that I thought it would've been. Ryan Renolds was great, but the best part was undoubtedly Blade and the guy talking before they see the human factory as sorta quoted above.
I would've liked to see a little more of Blade, but the parts we did see were class. The Bladearang sequence with the stairs was so damn cool. They made us wait for the sword fight, but it was worth it.
Shame we aren't getting more Blade![]()

It was an ok movie, and the only reason I'll own it is because I'll be getting the trilogybox set.
