... What the heck is #1? National Treasure? My goodness... how retarded.
1.National Treasure-new, $35,298,000
2.Spongebob-new, $33,500,000
3.Incredibles-$26,790,000
4.Polar Express-$15,215,000
5.Bridget Jones-The Edge of Reason-wide release-$10,106,000
6.After The Sunset-$5,275,000
7.Ray-$4,561,000
8. The Grudge-$3,800,000
9.Seed of Chucky-$3,136,000
10. Saw-$3,000,000
Glad to see Spongebob doing so well! Bridget Jones is very dissapointing, though, and The Incredibles faced a huge drop. The Polar Express did not drop much in comparison to other movies, but didn't have the staying power I thought it would-it's official-The Polar Express is a flop. The Grudge continues to draw more people than it should.

The death of traditional animation has been greatly exaggerated.![]()
Disney had a good week too. Gotta see The Incredibles.

Yeah, they didn't even promote Spongebob that well. I saw three TV ads tops.

I'm surprised to see National Treasure at the top. I figured Spongebob would be a lock for #1.
But what do I know?
I could deal with trying to process
Pigeons acting like they're doves
But not with interference
From the power lines above
how could you believe spongebob would make it to #1? Not everyone wants to see it....it doesnt appeal to everyone.....
lol - I had a feeling National Treasure would do really well, it looks like it could be a fun movie.
and 'the incredibles' is still doing fine, there's always a chance it could climb when people get done with Spongebob.
I'm not surprised as it was the only thing that came out that was kind of interesting. I'll see National Treasures after it comes out on DVD.
BTW, what type of reviews did it get?
Evil will always win because good is dumb.
But it does appeal to a lot of kids. And to a quite a large percentageof their parents. Plus, there are those of us that don't have child fans but think Spongebob is appealing anyway. I thought it would be between Spongebob and Incredibles. Instead, National Treasure somehow convinced people to see it.Originally Posted by loyalheart

The top 4 movies are either G or PG. Promising...very promising! :anime:
Good to see The Incredibles is doing well! That movie rocked and deserves to make as much money as possible.
Spongebob...mildly amusing at times, but certaintly not my favorite cartoon. But, hey, it's better than a tasteless American Pie clone making money.
National Treasure looks cool and different. I'll probably go and see it sometime.
Thanks for posting SillyMcGooses. Damn that thing called a job.Other wise it would have been up much earlier this afternoon.
Well, with the numbers posted, all that there is left for me to do is list next weekends movies...
Being that it's that time of year again, Thanksgiving weekend is upon us so what kind of movies do we have for the big holiday weekend?
Well, with the 'kid' movies already in release and will surely capitalize on the holiday, we have 2 new movies opening up this Wednesday.
First up is Oliver Stone's latest movie. This time it's his take on the story of Alexander The Great with Alexander. Already a vast quantity of opinions on this movie, this one will probably do about average I predict. With a running time of almost 3 hours, not a lot of people may not want to sit through that.
And the other movie is a Christmas one, based on John Grisham's novel Skipping Christmas, Christmas with the Kranks with Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Dan Aykroyd.
The Thanksgiving weekend is usually a big one, so we'll see how these new releases do against powerhouses The Incredibles and Spongebob Squarepants.
The Clown Prince
"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." -Gandalf in 'The Fellowship of the Ring'
Hasn't LOTR and other 2.5 hour plus films put this thinking to rest?Originally Posted by The Clown Prince
I believe if the movie is good enough, people will sit through it. If the movie looks iffy, however.. it better be short.

Actually I thought NT looked kind of interesting by the trailers. Cage, Bean, how can you go wrong?
I can't wait to see Alexander though. I'll be seeing that Thurs. I won't be surprised one bit if that is #1 of the weekend.
Evil will always win because good is dumb.
Considering the past performance of Pixar films around Thanksgiving, I think Incredibles will regain #1.
I'm surprised NT's at #1. I thought it would do average at best and that Spongebob would be at the top.

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.
GOD HATES FIGS
Eh, National Treasure looks lame. Besides, I can't stand Cage.I still want to see Incredibles but haven't roped anyone into taking me.
I'm not too surprised SBSP made alot. I knew alot would want to see it, not me though, I thought that looked stupid.
goodbye to you, goodbye to everything I thought I knewyou were the one I loved, the one thing that I tried to hold on toGEEK CENTRAL~! it pwns you and TZ.-Michelle Branch
i know i replies saying, how can you except spongebob to be #1 but, it's looking to preform the best out of all the nickelodeon films and with that comes best of "animated tv series adaption to film"...
i DID except that from Spongebob, i kinda wanna see it, but tonight my cousins told me it was very boring
People went to see National Treasure? I'd pick Spongebob over that easy...I mean, George Washington hid buried treasure? Come on. And he also had wooden pants.
If Christmas with the Kranks opens at #1 next week, I'll have a non-Democratic reason to move to Canada.
