Smallville "Covenant" Season Finale Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
We're down to the final episode of the season in just a couple of minutes! Last week's episode was Forsaken.

Clark, meet Kara! Here is the official preview from TheWB.com.

    Smallville #3-22 "Covenant"
Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara, a beautiful girl (guest star Adrianne Palicki) with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark (Tom Welling) to fulfill his destiny. Overwhelmed by her appearance, Clark turns to his parents (John Schneider, Annette O'Toole) for advice but is shocked when the girl forces Jonathan to finally reveal the deal he made with Jor-El. Also, Clark makes a discovery that ultimately redefines his relationship with Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), and Clark's relationship with Lana (Kristin Kreuk) takes a final turn. Meanwhile, Lex turns the tables on Lionel (John Glover) with the FBI.

Allison Mack, Sam Jones III and John Glover also star. Greg Beeman directed the episode with story by Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer and teleplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

So far I`m just weirded out that nude girl just walked right up to Clark without a "Good grief she`s naked!" look from him, he didn`t even notice[I guess Lana leaving had a MAJOR effect on him eh?]

    What an amazing episode.
Everything that's been coming since Smallville started has happened in this one episode.

You know, I knew Lex/Clark would have a fallout but I really didn't want it to happen (at least yet). Lana leaving Smallville, even if it is only temporarily will be good since the whole Clark/Lana thing has really been played out. Pete leaving the show last week too, on top of what they did to Chloe this week is going to have major reprecussions when Clark comes back to Smallville. (Which will happen)

Even though the Lex scene at the end has a pretty obvious outcome for Season 4.

You know that bomb scene was so obvious, but it was still exciting. And I liked how they used "Kara" in this episode. Season 4 really has alot to work on, starting with Clark vs Jor-El.

5/5, best episode of Smallville yet.

    I just, what, I what, Big O, I don't just, huh?

Seriously through well crafted finale, with a wonderful twist at the end, or should I say twists. We really got to see how evil Lionel could be, and any feelings of who was the greater evil him or Lex were gone. Bring on season 4.

    ......WHOA.

How in the hell are they going to come out of this one? Seems Lex is poisoned, Chole is...dead?, Lan's gone , and Clark...Where the heck is he?!

So Kara is just a regular girl huh? Can someone explain that one?

Still not as good as the last season finale but, this one left a LOT more questions unanswered. My brain's going to be racked with guesses all summer.

The finale just ended a minute ago. Holy crap, the last few moments were intense, and made up for the somewhat slow pace of the first half hour. My thought:

-The show starts us off with nekkid Kara. Cooool. Needless to say, she's pretty hot.
-And she's pretty mean, too. Damn, wonder who was in that car?
-Hrm.. has the "Clark Room" in Lex's mansion ever been shown before? I sorta remember seeing it somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's just my imagination. Anyway, I couldn't blame Clark for freaking out, although I do think he did rushed into conclusions.
-Nice moments with Lana/Lex/Clark at the airport. This is the sort of drama that's been missing in recent episodes, I think.
-"This friendship is over." from Clark + and Lex's pained expression = best scene in this episode. While it's sad to see that the friendship is apparently over, I also think it's about time that they started pushing Lex towards the dark side -- and cutting ties with the Kents might do just that.
-Kara's true identity seems kinda.. farfetched, and a bit lame. It'd be nice if she really was from Krypton, but I digress.
-Whoa.. is Jor-El supposed to be evil like that? Just vaporizing Kara after her "usefulness ended"?
    -Lionel's hair...
    -Lex.. poisoned?
    -CHLOE!
-At least we know Jonathon Kent is alright... or is he?
-Looks like Pete made the right decision in bailing Smallville last episode. Sweet damn.
-Wonder what's in store for Clark in the future? It can't be good for him if he's lying down like he's in shock...
-Anyone recognize the sign on the field, assuming it's Kryptonian?

She was just some normal girl who I believe died or was kidnapped by Jor-el, he endowed her with special powers and used her as a tool to get Clark to come to him. She was basically a zombie puppet, kind of.

This show has decreased steadily. This episode was not Season final material. It was junk in fact, Was that 10 minute music montage, WB style, supposed to impress me? I'm really dissapointed in how the WB is handling the legacy of Superman in his earlier years. It just seems so bad sometimes... ugh...

I have a feeling Clark(welling) is at the same part of the Superman movies where Clark(chris reeves) walks into the Fortress and goes on the journey with Jor-El. I also don't think Jor-El wants him to be a god. Just was trying to get him to accept who he is and his place in life.
Sick montage at the end. It sucks we have to wait until October until we find out what happens (I hate this).

ps-Although, in the montage I was waiting for Moe Green to get shot in the eye.

You know, part of me agrees with you. I mean, that type of montage was great when it was done by the Godfather some 30 some years ago. But, now it just seems a little cliched. I mean, what significance was Lionel shaving his head anyway?

And was I the only one that couldn't stop looking at the pimple in between Kira's eyebrows? I tell you, it freakin drove me crazy, it seemed like it was hypnotizing me or something.

I watched Enterprise, falsely believing that show had gotten more interesting. It had not. I flipped back to Smallville for the finale scene. Needless to say, I should have watched the entire episode. That was a good finale. Chloe's dead (supposedly, I blinked as her father stepped in the door), Lionel's bald (I always had a feeling they would make him shave his head simply because there was so much of it in contrast to Lex), Clarks zipping through space to who knows where. I'm not sure if Jor-El is supposed to be evil or just matter of fact. I hope they encore the episode (actually the whole season since I missed many episodes).

I think Lionel's head being shaved was suppiosed to symbolize that him and Lex were one in the same.

You know, what good would killing Chloe and Lex do anyway? I mean, Clark is still alive, and they still have Chloe's tape. Killing Chloe and Lex really wouldn't have helped Lionel stay out of prison.

According to people (Nightwing and Borg4of3) on AIM I was talking to, you shave a persons head before they're electrocuted--soo I guess Lionel got the death penalty? I dunno...

Death roster - Lionel, possibly Chloe and her dad (dad yes, Chloe...I dunno)
Death bed - Clark, Jonathan, Kent Farm

Oh, and I hated this. I agree with JL Kid--it was extremely crappy. And the whole slow-mo music bit? Was just a tad bit overdone. I'm talking Turkey-in-Christmas-Vacation done.

I am kind of confused about the Chole thing. Wasn't there an episode that established Lois Lane was her cousin, or is Lois Lane just a pen name? Either way, Allision Mack WILL be back for season four. Either she will play Chloe who has to enter into witness protection and takes on the Lois Lane name, or she will be playing her own cousin. Chloe, my friends, is dead. At least that identity of the character is gone. Long live Lois Lane.

And Perry White is a regular character next season as well.

And while I also wish that Kara had actually come from Krypton (or Krypton's sister planet), her origin didn't bother me. That doesn't mean she won't be reborn and become Supergirl. Clark rebels against Jor-El's true desires for his destiny on Earth, and Jor El resurrects Kara and sends her to fight Clark, just in time for sweeps weeks. At least that is what I hope happens. Kara/Supergirl would make for an awesome foe for next season.

Whatever season four is, I think we can pretty much guarantee they WON'T try another "back to the basics" approach they pulled early on in season three.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Chloe might've been needed to authenticate the transcript. After all, how do you know it wasn't faked unless one of the people says its true. Not like Lionel will authenticate it. Lex might've also been another witness, for what I'm not sure.

You may also get a head shaved to make hygiene easier. It's far too early for a trial, he'd just lost his bail hearing.

And yes, I couldn't stop staring at that pimple. I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be there, some type of hypnotic thingie, or just a a pimple makeup couldn't deal with.
