My favorite Star Trek movie. Leonard Nimoy and Nick Meyer take a potentially silly concept and make a classic out of it. Every time I see an aircraft carrier in person I feal the need to say "Nuklear Wessles"!

This is a fun movie, and I laughed a lot the first time I saw it. It's really more like an goofy episode of the series than a movie though. The film could've used a villain, as there's not much tension.
This was a great movie to watch, but it's hard to defend to anyone since it's really just for Trek fans I think. I mean, it's pretty self-indulgent to have the characters you love from the show travel back in time to the year the movie was released, but it's fun to feel like you can meet them in one aspect or another. Like I said, this one's mainly for the fans.
Anyway, I loved this movie. A cool end to the II, III, IV "trilogy".

Actually, this is the most mainstream movie of all the movies made, I believe, if I'm to read Jammer's reviews correctly:Originally Posted by FredNash

About the only gripe I have with this movie is that there is no real villian. Sure, there's the space probe trying to destroy the planet. But its no Khan, or Kruge, or Sybok. Still, I loved The Voyage Home, and I'd rate it as my third favorite Trek movie, after II and III.Originally Posted by FredNash

Scotty: Computer. Computer?
[Bones hands him a mouse and he speaks into it]
Scotty: Hello, computer.
Dr. Nichols: Just use the keyboard.
Scotty: Keyboard. How quaint.
This month we remember the great James Doohan who passed away last month.

Special thanks to TZ mod and Star Trek HQ webmaster Kolbar for helping me pick a TOS movie to honor Scotty.

'Voyage Home' is my favorite ST movie (*narrowly* edging out 'Wrath of Khan'.)
It has some of the best lines in the whole series ("What does it mean- 'exact change'?"), it's got some howlingly funny scenes (Kirk's reaction to Spock's dip in the tank had me rolling in the aisle), and it's got *beautiful* whales! It was also very nice to see the secondary characters get a decent amount of screen time.
Speaking of which: Rest in peace, Mr. Doohan.![]()
THE VOYAGE HOME is actually one of my least-favorite STAR TREK movies (right above THE MOTION PICTURE), just because it always seemed like a desperate attempt to lure outsiders to the franchise. (Another little grip is how they alter the geographic layout of the city. When Kirk says they're heading "back to San Francisco," they're already in San Francisco!) And I agree, it could have really used a villain. But it does have it's moments, and of course, the scene with Scotty trying to talk to the Macintosh is classic.

Probably my 3rd favorite Trek film with the Original cast. Khan and Undiscovered being 1 and 2.

Star Trek 4 is one of the Great Star Trek movies (Evens rock). It's a great romp, with tounge-in-cheek humor. There's a starical quaility to the film that I like about it. There's alot of classic scenes rememberable evens. Also, anyone can enjoy it, even if they're not trek fans. Funny, fun, and great.
It's sad that in the end, so much evil is done all in the name of 'Everyone Else is Doing It'.
