WWE Releases Ernest "The Cat" Miller

"I've confirmed with several sources that Ernest Miller was informed he was being released at last night's Smackdown taping in Tacoma, Washington. Miller had handled commentary duties on Velocity prior to being moved into the Smackdown roster as a full-time worker. His lone PPV match for the company was at the Royal Rumble last month in Philadelphia.

Miller joins Zach Gowen and Chris Kanyon as talent released from WWE within the last week. It is believed one of the reasons so many talents are being released is that several workers from OVW will be brought up to the main roster shortly."

This was a little surprising.

I wasn't a fan of his latest gimmick and he was awful on commentary.

I'm neither surprised nor disappointed by this news. Maybe The Cat could have lasted if he wrestled matches when he started instead of those lame dancing segments. Well, at least I got a good laugh from his quick eliminations in the two Rumble matches.

I'm not really surprised by this news.

I mean I think Vince was the reason The Cat was in the WWE in the first place. He was decent as an anouncer for Velocity or whatever show he did.. but they gave him a shot as a wrestler and it obviously didn't pan out. Didn't get the crowd reaction they were expecting, and not even beautiful women could help him out.

I wish the Cat luck, but I don't see him back with the WWE anytime soon.

Norman Smiley is current working indie promotions. This week he is doing a few MLW shows one being an Underground TV taping.

As for The Cat he was always bad in the ring. He is however decent on the mic, but he just can't wrestle. Im glad the WWE got rid of him.

Now if the WWE lets go of Paul London I will be pissed/glad. Pissed because he deserves to be wearing that Cruiserweight title! I would be glad because I wouldnt have to endure watching him be underused by the WWE. In all seriousness though I don't think they will let London go right now because they have big plans for him in the Crusierweight divison.

I kinda wanna see WWE release Steven Richards. He has been underused since day one. Richards is good in the ring and on the mic. So why not use him for more then Sunday Night Heat?

Unless Miller appears tonight on the show, I feel I should point out that while Kanyon's bio is no longer on the SmackDown! Superstars page, The Cat's still is. I believe it when WWE.com tells me. While this is a much less serious situation, the internet once convinced everyone that Mabel/Viscera died once too.
