    Banned Episodes?

    Like This Thread!
Just wondering, how many shows have banned episodes on American TV? (Not talking about Animé, but if an American 'toon had one...)

I thought that the Puerto Rican Day Parade episode of Seinfeld was banned, but here it is, airing on my TBS.

Of course, there was an episode of "Family Guy" that Fox would not show. It has since aired on Cartoon Network.
And apparently there was an episode of "Gargoyles" that ToonDisney wouldn't show for a while. As recently as a year ago, they showed it.

That's all I can think of. And they weren't exactly "banned."

Of course MTV banned several early episodes of Beavis and Butt-head.

At least one Cow and Chicken episode was banned after it's first airing.

Nickelodeon never aired the Ren and Stimpy episode "Man's Best Friend"

for the life of me though I cant think of any live action examples.

My parents have a bunch of tapes of the old 1960s series "the Avengers," and there was one episode (i don't have the name, but it was in black in white) that was banned from American TV due to an extremely provocative outfit Diana Rigg was wearing. If you've seen it, it is hot but tame to today's standards.
Be sure to catch 24 every Monday at 9pm Eastern on Fox (and 10pm Eastern on Global). Watch it, because you know you're brighter than Michael Irvin.

That episode was so funny. "Hey, I didn't know Optimus Prime was a Jew". But they actually delayed it a week when they were originally going to air it, probably because they had to edit it more.

There was also an episode of Married With Children that Fox didn't air.

Well the Puerto Rico episode was banned from NBC and NBC apologized to the Puerto Rican community regarding Kramer burning the flag, and also not included in the first few packages of syndication, but since the summer of 2002 it seems to have been included in the packages.

The delay of that Family Guy episode on CN had nothing to do with having to make more edits. The reason for the delay was due to a snafu in which, instead of the season/series finale of Big O, a repeat accidentally aired instead. After a lot of complaints on the Adult Swim message board, CN made up for that mistake by airing the finale to Big O the next week while pushing back the banned episode of Family Guy a week later.

"I'll See You in Court," the 45th episode of Married... with Children, would have likely aired February of 1989 (during the show's 3rd season), but it was shelved by Fox because they felt it was way too controversial. The lost episode eventually aired on some markets, but never in the U.S., until June 18, 2002, when cable channel FX finally gave it its American premiere.

The Dudley Do-Right cartoon "Stockey the Bear" was banned from TV because it made fun of Smokey the Bear. Stockey the Bear actually starts forest fires. The 2nd episode of Osamu Tezuka's bible epic "In the Begining" has never aired in the US because of nudity.

Clone High was banned half way through the first run, leaving most of the series unaired by MTV. Because some Indians got irrate about Ghandi. Freaking Teletoon aired the series, yet MTV wet itself over some complaints!Er, sorry. I get a little worked up about the show's demise. The fact that the land of my ethnic origins, India, got the show cancelled with their typical oversensitivity.

    Television Blows. So enjoy it.

Two eps of The Simpsons ("The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" and "New Kids on the Bleech") were temporarily taken off the air after Sept. 11, 2001. They seem to be restored by now.

The Seinfeld episode "The Invitations" was also taken off the air after the whole issue involving letters with the Anthrax virus.

Boy Meets World has several that Disney won't show such as the Prom episode and I believe the marriage due to the sexual theme. The "Truth Game" episode won't be shown because it involves nudity.
"Leaping Lanny and Randy Savage are brothers, and Randy Savage, your name is Randy Poffo. THAT'S RIGHT, RANDY POFFO. You're ashamed of going around calling yourself Poffo so you probably got the name Savage because you're ashamed of putting yourself on the same level as your brother because he is much better than you are. YOUR BROTHER IS A HUMAN BEING. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A SCUMBAG. THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE; YOU'RE A DOG. YOUR NAME IS POFFO." - Ronnie Garvin to Randy Savage, ICW Wrestling, 1980.

Prom episode, and nudity in Boy Meets World. As George would say on Seinfeld "Details please?"

I guess you could include CBS's "The Regans" TV-movie, only shown on Showtime.

Ahhhh, the infmaous crossdressing episode . . . funny that they cut that one, and left the episode where James gets lured into a torture chamber and quite literally whipped into shape by his psychotic fiance.

The Twilight Zone episode "The Encounter"

Married with Children "I'll See You In Court" was banned for a long time.

Futurama "Xmas Story" I think has aired on CN since.

Seinfeld "Puerto Rican Day Parade" has been aired on cable since.

I'm not sure about this one, but I think the Tales From the Darkside Christmas episode was banned. Or maybe just controversial, but I've only seen it once.
