Lettering
I'm doing a comic for my college newspaper, but I'm having a hard time picking out what kind of pen is best for lettering. I've tried a few, but they always come out sloppy and smudgy (thank goodness everyone else's strips in the paper are just as bad as mine
) Any ideas? (By ideas I mean lettering pens that don't cost something like $20-$50 each)

Funny you should mention this. Today I started writing and drawing my own comic aswell. I decided that for lettering (conversions, thought.. etc) I would add later in Painshop Pro. But just so that that I wouldn't lose what I wanted my character to say, I'd write it in outside the panel. That way when I can get it on my computer (still having a problem figuring that out, my scanner's still broken), I can just digitally add in my letters, and CG color it at the same time.
I don't know how real comic book artists do it, but I'm guessing it's something as close as that. Hopefully someone with some more experience could help you out with this.
