Trance Bandits
I'm not sure how to explain this correctly. But I gotta explain it anyway.
Here I did a drawing of two racoons in a room with DJ equipment, CDs, records, giant speakers, a keyboard, and other stuff.
I should tell you that this is not the full image. The scanner I used didn't get the whole picture.
I wanted to do something inspired by a style of music that I like, TRANCE! So I came up with two characters, both of them being racoons (I chose racoons because I'm growing an interest in them for some reason), as trance artists. I originally planned to have them in a club. But I had a deadline to beat and that, I felt, would take a lot of time. So, instead of a club, I put them in a room with a keyboard, a pair of turntables (which is off the image now), CDJs, CDs, a laptop, big speakers, a CD wallet, and a stack of vinyl records.
They could be remixing a song. They could be compilating a DJ mix. They could be doing anything as long as they are working with trance music. What I wanted was to do in this drawing is give the impression that these racoons are trance artists as best as I can. What I did to do that was add "merchandise" of trance artists and labels into this drawing. There's an Armin Van Buuren poster on the wall, stickers of the Vandit and Armada record labels as well as an Above & Beyond sticker on the speakers, a Paul Van Dyk logo on the back of the laptop, one of the racoons is wearing a Ferry Corsten t-shirt, and he's also holding a vinyl casing of a Flashover Recordings vinyl record. At the top of the stack of vinyl records is a record from Anjunabeats. I drew a Tiesto sticker on the back of the pair of turntables which doesn't show here due to a large drawing scanned from a small scanner. These are the most recognizable artists and labels in trance today (2008). I chose these artists and labels because they're the most well known names in trance, so there's a greater chance someone will get the idea that these racoons are trance artists. I also added the "merchandise" becuase if they didn't have them in this drawing, they'll look like they could be artists of a different music genre, and the goal was to give the impression that these two were artists of only trance and not look like they were house artists or something.
That's pretty much all I have to say.
I like turtles.

The one on the left looks a bit off.
