The Far Side of Justice...colored!

*I wasn't able to get this into the February ASJ on time, so I'm adding it here.*



Some of you may remember this from the April 2004 "Flipsides" ASJ, where we drew one established character/group in the style of another. I had always thought I'd like to color it, but never did. Well, the Feb. ASJ pushed me to do it. I started right after the Lego group, using the same colors. I'm fairly happy with it. I'd never done something like this before. Well, not much, anyway! Hardest part was dealing with all the artifacting due to the fact that I had [thoughtlessly] saved the original as a jpeg in Paint, a definite no-no.

I didn't see the original, but this one looks great. I especially like the Martian Manhunter. The lego designs are really well done too. Seems like you got all the details in boths pictures. The little pockets on Batman's Belt and including stuff like WW's lasso and Hawkgirl's mace. You really captured the Far Side style as well. Good job.

And here are the things that are missing from it (all nothing but oversights, some very odd):

- the lightning bolts on Flash's arms (corrected in color version)
- the stripes on Wonder Woman's boots (corrected...)
- Green Lantern's gauntlets (corrected...)
- the part of Hawkgirls' headpiece that's right above her eyes (corrected...)
- Flash's symbol! (not corrected, intentionally so)

Thanks. I purposefully went for the classic "fat woman" for Wonder Woman, and the "skinny woman" for Hawkgirl.

It's tru that a lot of the classicsa are gone. Right now, I would recommend Cornered, Speed Bump, Off the Mark and Bizarro to people who miss The Far Side. It has the same great sense of humor and lots of weirdness at times, too. (especially Bizarro, of course)
