everyone's too nice
share your real feelings instead of lying through your proverbial teeth. it does no good to keep telling people they're good when obviously they aren't. didn't anyone's mom tell them lying is bad? even little white lies aren't much help to anyone. point out the postitive but also the negative and where they have room for improvement because no one improves without knowing where their weaknesses lie.

Whul...it depends. From the posters' side , if they ASK for a critique, then the option to give one exists. Then it's up to you to decide how to carry one out....
From the critics' side, I think it takes time to really figure out what info would most useful, and how to present it ( ie...redline drawing or written, which elements need to be addressed, etc.).
As for place, I thought the Drawing board workshop area was the real arena for more hard edge critiquing. This is the 'for fun and check out what I'm doing' area. To the admns., - correct me if I'm wrong on this please. <:)
Oh yes, and consider this...just cause you don't SEE critiques doesn't necessarily mean they aren't happenin.
There's the nice lil feature called Private Messaging. After all, didn't you just hate it when mom corrected/lectured you in public? ;)

Youre right, uptonogood, people ARE nice in this forum... and for good reason!
This is a community, a place where people can share their work and have people comment on it, good bad or indifferent. Also (in your case), there are better ways of commenting and critiquing peoples work on this forum without destroying their work and being really negative (and not to mention, in your case, arrogant). All being negative does is lead to people becoming too self conscious about posting stuff here. This isnt just a forum, but a community... No, better yet a family.
The Mods and a LOT of the regular users KNOW how to critique a drawing and point stuff out without being without cooth or lack of self control. Starting this kind of idiocy because you feel differently makes you look like... well... without proper senses. I feel you should follow their lead.
If you have a problem at all with how this forum is run, take it up with one of the Mods... NOT make a scene and embarass yourself.
