OK, I've e-mailed Todd, and have the following information for you:

The reason I'm looking for artwork is for some training material. A friend and I are putting together flash animations to teach people the basics of computing. These are for people who don't want (or don't have the knowledge) to read the manual. We work for a help desk and want to give our end users the ability to help themselves. We're hoping to get some characters to help speed up the production time of each movie.

I'll be up front with you - if our "pilot" does well, we have toyed with the idea of trying to put together a more commercial project. At that point, we'd be able to pay for any help we get, but for now, we're putting one together that won't be sold.

As I think I mentioned before, anyone who provides a character will get a copy of the flash movie where the character appears. And of course, their name will be shown in the credits. We can do screen shots too, if the artist prefers.

Now Todd himself does seem like a nice guy - so if any of you DO have any questions, or are curious, then I'm sure he'd be more than happy to answer any queries.

Personally, I think this could be an interesting, rewarding experience for the right young illustrator, and a great addition to a portfolio. BUT, a word to the wise - please take on this project only if you are SERIOUS about completing it. To go in half-cocked, and to back out part-way through, will only waste both your time and Todd's...
