    Disturbing Sketch?

    Like This Thread!
Okay this is my first image post here, and all I have to show is this sketch

Hope to have more finished peices to display soon for critiques and such.

    Enjoy!

As a cat lover, I can say that is one sweet kitten. As a cat lover, I can also say I fear for its safety...

Lookin' good so far - I look forward to seeing the finished piece!

Um... *sweatdrop* this was never meant to go beyond the sketch stage... but if you like cats... here's the only other one I did (more of an anime style) earlier this year.

Glad you liked it Frozen, and don't worry, the kitten is in safe hands. The fierce evil looking creature saved the poor kitten from an abusive cherub-innocence looking child (off-screen or the censors would kill me).

Hehehe.... uh... what's the white jacket for?

Oooh, I see, somebody's hiding their light under a bushel, aren't they Bic! After all, I do seem to remember you stating you weren't that good!!! Well, that second piece is great - I love the rain effect you have there!!!

So, is manga your 'thang', or do you do other stuff as well?

Well, imo... I'm not that good compared to some of the stuff I've seen and want to do.

Manga is not my thing, but it's a format I love to read (re: look at the pictures). I guess comic style is more my 'thang', though I do experiment with manga, portrait, illustration styles to. Haven't found my grove yet.

All I got is older peices... like this and that and this really old peice circa 1991 ...oh and the image my current avatar is from.

These days I do more PS coloring than drawing. Trying to get back into it.

Thanx for the kind comments Frozen. Oh and I liked your sketches too.

Well, I've found that you'll NEVER be a s good as you want to be - and I can say that 'cos I feel exactly the same way. I'm a professional - I'm paid to draw for a living, but I will never EVER be happy with the stuff I do, 'cos I see my heroes (Parobeck, Bolland etc), and I complare their stuff to mine, and it makes mine look like a kid drew it...

But that's not the way to look at it. Stop looking at what everybody else does, and look at YOU do. 'Talent will out', Victor - it doesn't matter if you, or I, aren't the next Mike Parobeck, we ARE the first Victor Manning and Mathew David Spaull - and we should glory in it.

Don't be cowed by the masses of superb work in the world - be inspired by it, take that inspiratioon, and apply to your own work. Then, when you've finished, be proud, 'cos nobody else could do it, nobody else could have drawn those pictures, that avatar (I wondered if it was one of yours - very nice...) and that makes it, and you, unique. and that's a great thing...

    Keep posting, and keep drawing.

    < pauses >

Hey, sorry if that sounded preachy - I'm just very very VERY passionate about encouraging talented people to draw...

Yep, Frozen has got it right! Although, I can't draw worth anything, I've tried to apply exactly what he's said to things that I'm trying to work on. Singing for example: I really like to sing and I'm trying to get better at it. I know there will always be something new that I have to work on, but I won't get anywhere if I don't think positively. Anyway, just wanted to emphasize that I think that what Frozen said is exactly right.

You're work is amazing, Bic!! We have some extremely talented people on these boards. Being another cat lover, I especially love the first one you posted...it's really great. I hope you keep posting more...I love looking at everyone's artwork!
