Pretty difficult for most people to choose just one year. I would probably choose the years 1935 - 1950 as Disney's best years.
Wich year was really the Best disney year when its up to animation and stories?

Though back in the golden era of animation, Disney was pretty comfy, I'd also like to suggest that Disney was doing pretty well from 1987-1995. In that span, they had a number of wildly successful original TV series (DUCKTALES, RESCUE RANGERS, TALESPIN, DARKWING DUCK, GOOF TROOP, ALADDIN, WINNIE THE POOH, GARGOYLES) and their biggest movies to date (LITTLE MERMAID, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, THE LION KING, TOY STORY 1). After 1995, most of the good stuff Disney produced were the projects that Pixar assisted with.

I agree,1987-1995 were great years for Disney.
You had Disney's The Little Mermaid,Beauty and the Beast,Aladdin,Lion King, and Pocahontas all doing well. And the late 80's/early 90's where Disney owned television with hits like Duck Tales,Darkwing Duck and Talespin. Kim Possible is Disney's lastest TV wonder.
Afterwards, things were OK. Mulan and Brother Bear bring my favorite of favorites out of all the crop of newer stuff.
I'm so proud of Disney's accomplisments. I don't really count the Pixar stuff.
