Re: Do you want Gargolyes to come back?

Absolutely not. Gargoyles was a great show at first. Once fame and fortune hit and they were no longer dealing with being outcasts, it basically defeated the purpose of the show. It's like Batman Forever. Joel Shumacher said "it's time to take the darkness out of Batman." You can't do that. Darkness is Batman. Once the gargoyles were basically accepted, it wasn't Gargoyles anymore.

I'd LOVE for it to come back if they had the same 'feel' as the original 65 episodes. Those were great.

the GOLIATH CHRONICLES felt like 'Gargoyles lite' and hit on too much X-Men terrority [sworn to protect those who fear and hunt them]. It was much better when they were in secret.

But hey, with magic as part of the show, and time travel, those events could be easily undone.

I'd like to see the show back, yeah, if the original creative team helmed it. And I wouldnt even mind a new take-- like Angela as the leader of an all-new Gargoyles clan-- kinda Gargoyles: Next Generation.

The head writer (forget his name) has said that if he was allowed to continue the series, he'd like to treat The Goliath Chronicles as out of continuity, with the exception of the first episode. But Disney's probably never going to revive the show unless they think it'll make them more money.

If Greg Weissman comes back to write it

Then yes. Here's what his idea is/was:
If Disney restarts te series and ask him to
write it he said he would not acknowledge
the last 12 Goliath Chronicles Episode,
    except for The Journey.
The Journey was his last episode.

I want would GARGOYLES to return, but only if they elimatinate THE GOLIATH CHRONICLES from continuity and stick with the theme and mood set up by the original 65.

Though, personally, I'd rather see Ducktales, Talespin, or Darkwing Duck return.

Do you mean Gargoyles on cable TV? It is already on Toon Disney, with plenty of showings.

If you mean Gargoyles return on with a new series, I wouldn't mind.

If they release the entire series on DVD and it sells well, that means there's a market for a new show.

Only if they do it right. I don't ever want to see any of that Goliath Chronicles ever again, or acknowledge it's existance. I'd love to see it pick up where the syndicated series left off and bring us some real great stories.

Only if it returned to the feel and quality of the first two seasons, and (if it must follow the Goliath Chronicles) possibly build on the third season with a darker spin on where things went from there. But new episodes could be great.

    New Darkwing Duck would rule!

Although I get this feeling it'll be called Darkwing Duck: Evolution and focuse on DW, Launchpad, Gizmoduck, Megavolt, Liquidator, Bushroot, Quacker Jack, and Morgana back in high school or Darkwing Beyond with an elder Drake Mallard teaching a teenaged Honker Muddlefoot how to be Darkwing Duck for a new generation.

Do you want Gargolyes to come back?

If there is a decent ending to the show. Gargolyes ended with a unfinished storyline.

Also Goliath Chronicles should not be brought back.

I couldn't agree with you more. I watch A new Gargoyles series if it picked up where the syndicated series left off, and pretend that "The Goliath Chronicles" never happened. And another thing. I'd much rather see "Darkwing Beyond" than "Darkwing Evolution".

Why must they reinvent the show, though? They could just continue where it left off. If GARGOYLES comes back at any time, they needn't come up with a new title - just continue from the series they already have.

I would love to see a new series but Greg would have to be involved with the production. Also - I don't like the idea about having the Goliath Chronicles taken out of continuity - Greg has even admitted that he regretted leaving the series - primarily because of the lower quality animation. Not only could Greg deal with the Goliath Chronicles but it would be easy enough for someone like Demona to transform the world into a medieval state where the Gargoyles and humans co-existed. When Goliath and crew repair the events they find that the modern world has been altered - the rememberence of Gargoyles completely gone with the exception of only Xanatos, Fox and Eliza (thanks to the protection of Alexander).

Greg said that he regretted leaving because he missed the chance to tell 12 more of his stories rather that the one from Ransom to Angels Of The Night.

He said that he would not count the Goliath Chronicle except for his episode The Journey.

Now that you mention it, if Gargoyles made a come back the animation quailty should be raise a few notches back up.

The animation quailty in Goliath Chronicles was awful and cheap looking.

I don't want the show to come back. Don't get me wrong, it's the best cartoon I ever saw, but in order for it to happen, it would have to go through ABC/Disney, which would mean Goliath Chronicles all over again.

What got me about Season 3 was not that the episodes were awful, just disrespectful to the previous two seasons. They were still ABC's best stuff at the time. I liked Genesis Undone, Generations (for some reason, I keep thinking the Assassin was Jason Canmore), the first part of Seeing Isn't Believing (the mind games between Proteus, Elisa, and Goliath should have been the whole episode), and Angels in the Night.

The only way the show's revival has a chance is if it goes to syndication, and with the UPN deal going away next year, that doesn't look too good. Season 2 had some sort of resolution anyway.

    Later.
