NO!
As everybody here probably knows, this week's John Delaney Poll features some of the most recognizable New York characters of film, print and television.
Included among them is:
Elisa Maza
The female lead, of Gargoyles, which was one of the best animated series of the 1990s, if not of all time.
Elisa is in a tight race with The Ghostbusters & TMNT, and it looks like this vote will come down to the wire. Certainly, they are all fine choices, but at least 40 of us believe that Elisa deserves the honor. Of course, you should vote for whichever character you would like to see drawn. However for those of who you are undecided or haven't voted yet, this thread is meant to show you why we've chosen "Elisa." And why we hope you will too...
Some quotes from Elisa's supporters:

my vote goes to Eliza Maza. One heck of a cop - she's accepting towards all people...of all races...and represents those who work hard o protect us daily. Go to town on this one John...Originally posted by Anarky
as soon i fix my cookie problem, I'm voting for Elisa.
She's like Lois Lane w/ a badge. :-)Originally posted by Clayface
I had to go for Elisa for most of the reasons already mentioned - she just seemed like the natural choice. when I think of New York now, I always think of policemen and firemen (and women) - so Elisa is the one and only choice for this sort of poll, IMO.Well said, All of you. And a Big "Thanks for your Support!" to everyone who's voted already.Originally posted by I_am_scifi
In the end however, I voted for someone who is a symbol of what hard work and dedication can do for a person. She may not be real, but she is a representatrion of what a good cop should be. That's why I voted for Eliza Maza, my favorite character from Gargoyles.
But it's not over yet. As I type this, there's a little over 23 hours left in the poll. Time enough to overcome a six vote deficit.
SO LET'S GET TO IT!!!
VOTE FOR ELISA MAZA IN JOHN DELANEY'S SKETCH OF THE WEEK # 36!!!

Guys, *please* don't turn this into a shouting match. It's extra-specially inappropriate when the poll involves a tribute to a terrible tragedy.
I have already voted for someone else, but shall not mind if Elisa wins- I'm sure John will sketch her, or any of those candidates, in a manner we'll all appreciate.
Not that I hate Gargoyles in fact I LOVE Gargoyles but I don't quite like Eliza

Well, it's all academic now- 'Ghostbusters' won the poll.
Nope... poll's not closed yet... to be fair to those who didn't have the opportunity to vote on Friday, we're keeping the poll open until 2 PM, Sunday...Originally posted by Sharklady

Don't you people understand!?!
Oh! That's a first, but it certainly seems fair.
Just a few hours before we know whether this'll affect the results...
It didn't.
Congrats to the 'Ghostbusters' fans.
