    The Weekenders-The Movie Discussion

    Like This Thread!
This series recently ended, but it's the funniest Disney cartoon I've seen since...heck, Hercules, and Darkwing Duck.

Who thinks this should be given the molvie treatment?

I mean, come on, it's been on for the past few years, and even Jennifer Love Hewit was on it at one point.

The show ended ?? That's my favorite cartoon !! I loved it because it was original, funny and just had it's own kind of style.

It also did one thing that most cartoons didn't...It had the characters changing hair styles and clothes.

    re: Weekenders: The Movie discussion

Yeah..plus they had that restraunt that kept changing it's gimmick every episode.

Tish remains my favourate, she's responsible for the word "Tishing"[Which means talking intellectually], which should be used in the english language, Plus she's... HOT!!

A classic episode once had Tion saying: "I don't know which is worse, the fact that Carver broke my trust, or that Tish is about to run me over any minuet now"

    Later Days!

How did the series end ? I've been taping the episodes that hvae shown up on syndication, since they dropped it from One Saturday Morning.

My favorite Characters were everyone. I never had a definet favorite, everyone from Tino's Mom to that guy she dated in the last season.

I loved the episode where Tish became a star becauses he was on that show Teen Canyon..and they renamed the pizza Place "Tish Pizza".

    GRAPE SODA NOW!!!!!

    Later Days, indeed.

Err..you've got the names mixed up, that's TINO you're talking about. Tish was a girl.

The series was axed because iof "undisclosed" reasons. [Boy did THAT sentence backfire on itself]

Tish was pretty cute of coarse they where in 7th grade, when I was in ninth so that kind of stinks, just make her a little older ,

Anyway, this was probably one of the better shows on the old Disney 1 Saturday morning block.

I had heard somewhere that there might - might, mind you - be a "Weekenders" movie released direct-to-video.

I can't imagine a plot that could sustain a 75 minute movie, but whatever they come up with, I'm sure it will be great.

"The Weekenders" is, without question, one of the best shows I've ever seen. The characters (particularly Bluke and Tino's mom) are terrific and there is lots of humor in the episodes.

I hope that each and every episode ends up on DVD, someday.

I am so very envious of those people who get Toon Disney.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

Sorry to hear it got cancelled...though it was a pretty OK show, with the unique aspect of it being that it's not a spinoff of a pre-existing Disney property and with the kids acting *somewhat* realistic (vs. the annoying, one-dimensional nature of kids on "Recess", which got to stay on in reruns/new eps/even a movie for quite awhile). Also liked the pizza parlor's name-changing gimmick (liked the version where it was a computer-themed place: "pizza's jammed. It says "insert new cheese cartridge to continue"", along with the spy-themed version [the menu was all in spy code-words]).

A direct-to-video film of this show might be nice to see...

LOVE this show. They're still showing it on Sunday mornings on my UPN affiliate. It's been in reruns for a while now and I'll be sorry to see it go.

    Tino's fear of clowns. . . Tish and her dulcimer. . . the pizza place. . . Lor's brothers. . . Carver's love of shoes. . . Bluke . . . Mrs. Tonitini's cooking . . . Funville. . . the Whip-a-Canoe at Tesla Park (named after a genuine mad scientist who tried to create a death ray ) . . . Tish's parents. . .

    Sigh.

The episode that featured Tino's fear of clowns was one of the funniest episodes ever. It's a shame when GOOD Disney toons like Weekenders, Pepper Ann and Gargoyles get canceled while crap like Recess adn Buzz Lightyear get renewed year after yeaar =(

The show was alright, although I liked Recess better. I don't really like the kids from The Weekenders, they were too boring IMO. Most direct to video movies are crap just thrown together to make a buck anyway so I'm not going to count on it being good.

This show was good? ARGH, of course I never saw it. Looked pretty dumb from the commercials, so I never watched it... where/when's it on now?

AMEN!! I liked that show and my sister absolutley LOVED it! We were both sad to see it go. Now the "1 Saturday Morning" block is relying on the Olsen-twin cartoon and that awful Lizzie Maquire show. BOO
