Toon Disney Announces Their Fall Schedule

Toon Disney has announced their new series (many of which are from Disney's One Saturday Morning) and Toon Zone's got it! For more, click here.

I find this interesting since many of these series aired on ABC this past season and I am curious if ABC will drop their Disney's One Saturday Block altogether this fall. I am praying that they do!

Thoughts? Opinions?

im pretty certain they are adding:

Kim Possible, Proud Family, Power Rangers... and i dont know what else...

i think Lizzie and Even Stevens are staying..

Im hoping they re-name themselves.


Winnie the pooh (im only guessing) will prolly stay...

I really hope that reruns of "The Weekenders" end up on The Disney Channel. I will just flip out if that's not the case; we don't get Toon Disney or Nicktoons TV where I am.

Well, if they did drop their Sat. AM block on ABC, that'd probably mean ABC would be running a Saturday morning version of "Good Morning America", I suspect, though given how lucrative a time block it is to promote Disney stuff/shows to death (as is the case for Winnie the Pooh, which seems to have been in reruns since I *started* high school [about a zillion years ago---ok, the late 80's]). Thus, I assume a big shakeup in the Sat. AM block instead...

Re: the different shows:
"Teamo Supremo": I've made my thoughts on this clear. Did I mention the scenes that take place at their grade school and with their teacher in mid-lesson mirroring Ms. Keane and Pokey Oaks---oh, never mind.... :-)
Though if anyone cares, they did rerun their pilot episode with their "origin" last week....

Future: Depending on its ratings, could still imagine it coming back to ABC and/or Toon Disney next fall for new episodes...

"Sabrina the Animated Series": Cute show, though rather preachy (with every episode having some sort of moral lesson). Like the animation designs on the characters (a bit reminiscient of the "Beetlejuice" cartoon at some points). Looked like they got "Gem Stone"'s inspiration from Libby from the live-action series' earlier episodes. As for Salem the cat still having magic powers despite being a cat, IIRC in the original 60's/70's "Sabrina" comic series, Salem was a non-talking cat with some magical abilities (though I could be wrong on this/confusing it with the old cartoon of that era).

Future: With the live-action show firmly entrenched on the WB and the show having been in reruns for about two seasons now, probably gone from ABC after this season (guessing it still airs on it---my local affiliate last I checked airs it at an early-early morning timeslot on Sundays to make room for local news). Possibly might stay on the weekday "One Too" block (see comments on this below) for one more season....

"The Weekenders": Sort of liked this show, it being the most "realistic" of Disney's animated Sat. morning series (vs. the likes of "Recess"). Liked seeing the different forms the pizza parlor took each episode.

Future: Not being "Recess"/no cute aliens, song numbers, being a spinoff of an existing Disney property, etc. probably didn't ensure this show having the best future...think it's already off of ABC's Sat. morning timeslot? (Or just my local affiliate once again....) Probably stick around on the weekend "One Too" block...

Finally, I recall hearing somewhere that UPN's contract with Disney to air "ONe Too" (the weekend/weekday Disney cartoon timeblock) supposedly expires after next season, with UPN not wanting to renew it...assuming what I heard is true, I'd assume there won't be many radical changes to the "One Too" timeblock (barring maybe "Sabrina" getting yanked or something). Guessing against the KWB weekday timeblock and NIckelodeon/Cartoon Network, its ratings probably aren't the strongest (though guessing Sunday mornings might fare better)...

Okay, if Disney's One Saturday Block disappears, exactly what will happen to "Digimon"? I'm not a big by any means, but I have heard good things about "Digimon: Tamers" and was planning to watch it this fall. Will it just end up ABC Family?

We do not know yet, but the new "Power Rangers: Ninja Storm" is headed to ABC, according to some websites. If that is any indication, I would gather ABC drops "Disney's One" and adds "Digimon Frontier." "Digimon Tamers" airs weekday mornings on ABC Family, currently.
