    Disney officially announced that its 1992 masterpiece will get an IMAX & Large Format re-release in January 2004, followed by a Platinum Video & DVD re-release in October 2004.

    Cool, that seems to be Disney's current trend for their early 90's movies right now. I really enjoyed seeing Beauty and the Beast on Imax. I can't wait for that DVD.

    Aren't they releasing The Lion King to Imax theaters this upcoming January??

    Oh, fun! I bet that flying carpet scene in the cave and with Jasmine would look so awesome up on a giant screen like that! I never did see Beauty and the Beast, but this one I think I would be interested in. And The Lion King? Wow... I bet that would look even cooler!

    The Plat. release will only be the first one, but I hope they also put out 2 & 3 around the same time.

    I can't believe they are putting Lion King out before this That movie is way overrated IMO.

    I was worried when I read this that there was another "Cheapquel" in the works

    Anyways, I can't wait to see this in IMAX, and I'll definately pick up th platinum series DVD, which will be my second after The Lion King, since I wasn't a fan of Snow White or Beauty and the Beast.

    Anyone have the full platinum series release list? I saw it a while ago, but I forgot what comes after this. Thanks.

    I don't understand why crap like Bambi and the Jungle Book come before Cinderella. Same with things like Lady and the Tramp getting a Plat. release? And, scheduling till 2010... who knows if we will have some new type of media by then. I think they need to release two a year.
