Hmm...This sounds promising. I just hope this new guy actually has a clue about creativity. I have my fingers crossed.
Well it sounds like the execs at Disney may finally be getting sick of Eisner. After his latest lackluster year in profits it sounds like Disney is seriously considering the AOLTIMERWARNER exec Bob Pittman by luring him away from the conglomerate to be Eisners successor.
Hmm....could it be that Disney may finally be on to something and realize that Eisner's policies haven't been the best for the company?

Is real going to get better if the guy is from aoltw I real doubt it.
If nothing else Pittman hasn't allowed for his classics to become cheapquel-ized. The only character they have even come close with is Scooby and they've created some entertaining movies out of the DTV franchise. I would personally rather watch Zombie Island or the Witchs Ghost over Cinderella 2 anyday.Originally posted by Indelent

If they're looking for a replacement, they need someone with a better grounding in animation, not another monkey in a suit. Walt had that grounding and you see what he created. Eisner didn't and you see what he destroyed...
My origins have been clouded in mystery... some say that I was once a man, known as Hamato Yoshi. Another tale states that I was once merely a humble pet rat of a man named Hamato Yoshi. For the record allow me to state that both are true... and yet, neither is true. Such is the way of Ninjitsu.
Yeah it's time for Eisner to go. He's gotten way too cheap and lazy lately. No wonder Disney's losing money. Hasn't he heard the saying "You gotta spend money to make money" Of course if you put out a shoddy product not as money people will buy it. Of course there will always be diehard Disney fans(the fools), but they're the exception to the rule. Disney needs to go back to what made them so good in the begininng, the storytelling. Sure it was mainly based on previously created works, but it worked just great for them. Of course original titles are still needed as well, and hopefully Lilo and Stitch fills that role ouit perfectly. When their deal with Pixar runs off Disney is going to have a lot less to work with, so the need to put out great product or face going under like their competitors(Fox animation and WB feature animation)
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.
What Di$ney needs is someone who may do business work, but at the same time knows what it takes to make A quality product. Someone who's willing to spend money while worring about the bottom line. Someone who will give the artists creative freedom while he dose other things that don't interfear with their work. Someone who was involved in the creative process instead of in the boardroom. Let's hope that this fellow from AOL Time Warner is up to it.
This source is very unrelieable. The drudge report. Eisner's contract didnt' run out til 2006 and recently the board just talk to Eisner so this is look very unlikey for right now.
I agree with mad monkey 7, the drudge report is far from a reliable source. I wish it was true, but I'd rather not see someone from aoltw be the replacement. I don't know who would do well as a replacement, but i'd prefer it be a person who respects animation and not a "pure" businessman who only tries to exploit and undermine the intelligence of children (and many adults) by putting out cheapquels and derivative animated comedies. More for myself, i'd like to see disney go back to producing a good story and using CGI as backup to 2D animation. But that's just for me.

That means there will be at least four more years of cheapquels and other poor production. After that, who knows. Also, remember the fact: Anyone is better than Eisner!
