I hate past Disney.
Long live Lilo.
I'm sure you all seen those Lilo and Stch previews where he makes "unexpected cameos" in past Disney movies. Well is it just me, or does those previews seem to be insulting not only those past Disney movies the magic it once had? I mean.... it's sort of hard for me to expllain, it just seems those previews are like the house of mouse, an insulting way to increase fandom in past movie stars, and it just makes this movie feel so non-Dinsey(I mean the good kind of Disney we all loved before Esiner took over). Anybody here agrees with me that the Lilo and Stich preview are insulting past Disney?

I have to disagree with you Captain, but these previews are very clever and very smart. I don't think we've seen this kind of marketing approach before. The Lion King and Aladdin previews were the funniest ones and it makes me very much want to see this movie.

There is one thing I knowtice in the Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast spoof previews, the females acted out of character.
In the Aladdin Movie, Jasmine was someone with attitude who wanted to marry for love not for somebody because he was hansom, had lots of money or is a prince, but in the Lilo and Stich preview, she was acting like a total nymph over some creature obviously not human who has a space cruiser.
As for Bell, in BatB, she was a down-to-earth kind of girl, but in her Lilo and Stich preview she sounded like a spoiled brat. The way she said "I'll be in my room" sounded like she pisted that her perfect night was ruined.(That's not the Bell I remeber.)
The Ariel I remember..... well I don't remeber much about her, but I do know she was acting out of character when she slaped Stich in her spoof preview.(acting like a pre-moddona)
Sorry for sounding like "Mr. It's-Gotta-be-Polliticaly-Correct", but something about this movie just doesn't seem like Disney(I mean good, lovable, non-Esiner Disney) to me. I'm not saying we should live in the past or some crap like that, and I know it's hard to come up with good movies theis days(mostly because Disney has almost done every story there is) but this movie just seems another step away from the Disney we like so much.(but who knows, I might see the movie anyways and my opinion may change about this movie.) One thing's for sure, the other Disney characters don't care for him much.![]()
I wouldn't look that deeply into these previews. All 4 of them were stricltly used for publicity (and good at that), and were meant to spoof their originals. Key word there is SPOOF. That's why the characters are "out of character." I don't think Disney at all has hurt the movies that they used here.

SHEESH it`s just humor! And who cares if people stay in-character in just a commercial?

Stitch's (hilarious) intrusions aren't anymore insulting than those alleged sequels that pop up some 50 years after the fact. That should be your true target.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

is this gonna be g rated? it doesn't feel like it.
I hate myself and I want to die.
Nope. Surprisingly Disney is going with another PG film. I don't remember how well Dinosaur did with it's PG rating, but I remember it didn't perform like Disney wanted it to. We all remember how Atlantis did last year too so this is gutsy for Disney to do another PG film. Still, Lilo and Stitch is NOT gonna be another Atlantis or Dinosaur. This is something really different for Disney that should hopefully pull their butts out of the rut they are currently in.is this gonna be g rated? it doesn't feel like it.

I don't find the previews offensive to the past Disney movies at all. I do find the cheapquels offensive but have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. Besides that I will see this movie in theatres - unlike Dinosaur (Atlantis I saw twice and would have to consider it one of my fave Disney movies - good stuff). Hopefully Lilo and Stitch will live up to the expectations I have for it and its success will stream into Treasure Planet.

I love the Lilo and Stich commecials. The movie looks really funny and it's going in the more action-adventure direction than past Disney movies that were musicals. It's a step in the right direction also.
I think the commercials were made to fight the growing notion that cel animation is "outdated" because of CGI. Entertainment Weekly keeps citing that lunatic idea every chance it gets. CGI doesn't replace cel, just like photographs don't replace oil paintings!
Ahem. Anyway, the "Lilo" commercials seem to be making a point along the lines of "hey, you enjoyed these! And they were cel! You'll enjoy this too!" It's a risky and gutsy move, but apparently Disney's so confident in the quality of the flick they're willing to make the comparison. And, as far as the great buzz this flick has going, the confidence is well placed.

You read it... you can't un-read it!
You maybe right, but I think they are doing to it much, like saying this is gonna be a milstone, or the movie that will save Dinsey in the money pit that they are in. I think FOX did the same kind of avdertising(as saying this will be an animated movies that will stand out of the crowd) to Titan A.E. but that movie didn't do so well.(I saw Titan and that movie was boring and just a PG poor man's version of the Heavy Metal movies to me.) We will have to wait and see if this LaS is really all that or just another Titan A.E..
Dude, you are taking these entirely too seriously. Frankly, I admire any company that can poke fun at itself, and since now it's Disney, the lords of the lawsuit, I have an even greater level of respect for them. They're just ads, dang it.

OKAY, I understand know. I was just making a mountain out of a molehill over some silly previews. My bad, I'm sorry.![]()
Nope Titan AE took the approach of having a non-existent marketing campaign - with only a few ads poping up on Fox Kids during the weekdays. To compare the great Lilo and Stitch marketing campaign to Titan AE's is like comparing a Chevy to a Ford- one is good and the other will break down and self destruct. The few ads that were created for Titan AE didn't entice anyone to actually see the movie - mainly becasue the focussed on the CGI and not the story. Don Bluth has even talked about the fact that Fox refused to market Titan AE and then pretty much blamed him for its failure.Originally posted by Captin "Hank" Murphy

If you don't mind me asking what did you find boring, I thought it was a very enjoyable flick.
