Darkwing Duck isn't the best, but it could be much worse. An anime character could be winning.

At what point did I infer that Looney Toons was inferior to DW in anyway? I haven't even slandered any of the other possible choices in the Vote! The thread is titled DW Fans because I was targeting them. I like Speedy, I LOVE Daffy, Looney Toons a generally Superior to most of Diseny's stuff in my opinion, but I'm going to have to call you on this one.

I like Speedy, I'm all for the protests that he's being banned, I think people get too caught up in stereotypes and being afraid of offending other people, but you gave no support as to why Speedy was better. What You said came across as Looney Toons get the Shaft therefore DW sucks.

Darkwing Duck is an excellent Cartoon, and while nothing on this planet is ever original, DW managed to combine some of the greatest elements from Comics and Cartoons. It's Basically Daffy playing Batman years before Tiny Toons ripped off the idea.

I love the show, and mostly it's due to the characters. The characters are so dynamic, they learn they change, get angry, are afraid of death, have egos and nerves. They illicit sympathy from me, I care about them, and I love to see what they do. They're so much more Human that much of Dinsey's stuff tends to be. Drake's got this solo superhero gig going on all the while trying to convince himself he's good enough to cut it and masking it with this super large ego. He's intelligent, and good at what he does, even if he's not getting recognition, As far as he's concerned his life is complete, but then Gosalyn comes into the picture and the floor is out from under him. He feels so much for this orphan kid that he gives up his life and takes her in, but he's still a great superhero. How can you not see merit in that? You'd have to throw away the Daffy dynamic, your precious Looney Tunes, eh? Not to mention The Last Near century of Batman, James Bond, and Twighlight Zone. And even if you ignored the merit of those, you still Have Launchpad and Gizmoduck, from Ducktales which in itself is a fantastic show.
But That's just pop culture for you. There's still the Emmys Darkwing Duck won, because unfortunately Disney didn't opt to make an Oscar Winning DW Movie, when was it exactly that they stopped giving out Academy Awards for Animated Features?
You want brilliant minds? Look at the folks that worked on the show, some of the hottest names in Animation today, Duane Capizzi, who produces nearly everything out of Sony Animation these days, MIB: The Series, Jackie Chan Adventures; Peter Hastings of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain fame, great writers and story editors. It managed to produce some great shows, aimed at kids, with plenty of the wacked out over kid's heads humor that Animaniacs and shows today are doing, and this was 12 YEARS AGO! You need to remember Looney Toons and Merry Melodies were for adults, most early animation was, so they weren't afraid of playing inneundo games. But DW was straight childrens animation at the forefront of angling it back towards adults.
But then there's the life of the characters, the voices.DW had an ungodly talent working as the Voice Over Artists, Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen, Christine Cavanaugh, Charlie Adler, Dan Castallneta, I mean what more could you want in a cast?

So how is it Darkwing Duck isn't as good as I think? Because Disney opted to hurt it by going with cheap animation? The fact that some of the best episodes are the worst animated is a testiment of itself, that the writing and the acting was enough to carry the show on some occasions.

This may be longwinded, a tad psycho, but these are only a fraction of the reasons DW deserves my vote. You didn't even bother to mention why Speedy would have been a better choice, and I'm totally willing and ready to explain why *I* think Darkwing Duck is a better choice than Speedy.

And please don't get me wrong, I may sound adimant here and there, I'm just explaining why I think DW is so great, and why I want to see him win.

That said, GO DARKWING!
