Really uneven episode this week.
One one hand, "Carnival Lucius" is one of my favorite segments to date.
On the other, "Baby Boom" was one of my least favorite segments so far.
Carnival Lucius: Heloise’s latest invention for Misery Inc. turns out to be a carnival.
Today @ 8:30 AM
Baby Boom: In order to afford tickets for one of their favorite bands, Jimmy and Beezy get a job babysitting the Molotov’s children.
Huzzah! We’ve actually got episode summaries for a change! Unfortunately, Teletoon’s website only has the episode summaries for a handful of episodes, so we might not have these every week. Still, it’s nice to have a general idea of what an episode is about before you watch it.

I really liked “Carnival Lucius”. It was nice to see Heloise actually get back at Lucius for always taking credit for her inventions, but I do believe that the ending was a bit too convenient. I know that Heloise is supposed to be über in the series and all, but she got out of her punishment far too easily. I guess that’s what made it funny, as that wheel went on an insane course before it hit the collapse button, but I would have preferred a different solution.
As for “Baby Boom”, it was surprisingly enjoyable considering that the baby kept “spewing”. I guess since it was purple and didn’t really look that gross, I was able to shrug it off and enjoy the episode for what it was. It wasn’t anywhere near as good as the first segment, but I don’t have many complaints about it.

"Carnival Lucious" was very good, Jimmy really wanting those gum shoes then regretting it was amusing, although I'm kinda getting tired of Lucious being almost always owned at the end, it has happened in the most recent episodes.
"Baby Boom" was better than I thought, the highlight being Jimmy trying to talk "seriously" to one of the kids, then pans to Beezy and Heloise playing violins, then Jimmy saying "Whoa, not that serieous.", and then they play the violins happily.![]()
What surprised me more, though was the lack of Lucious, which is a bit of a nice change, I think.
Yeah. I was surprised about that. It’s good for Jimmy to be disappointed from time to time, as it helps make his character relatable. A while back, somebody compared “Jimmy Two-Shoes” to “Making Fiends”, but if that scene had taken place in “Making Fiends”, Charlotte wouldn’t have been disappointed at all. That’s what I like about “Jimmy Two-Shoes”. Jimmy may have boundless optimism, but he isn’t a total idiot nor is he too naive. He’s a likable character who is just trying to make the best out of a bad situation.
I don’t expect that there will be many episodes where Lucius “wins”, although it would be nice if it happened from time to time. Even in episodes where he doesn’t have any way to lose, such as “Pop-Sicles”, they still managed to find a way to have him freak out at the end.
