    Current "Curtis" comic discusses Disney/Pixar

This entire week has focused on Curtis meeting an older sandwich shop employee who claims he has to work there due to Pixar becoming Disney's newest cash cow, and 2-D animation going the way of the dinosaur. Kinda strangely topical for a comic, but it's interesting.

Whatever diverts attention away from the moronic 'Curtis/Michelle/Chutney' love triangle and the excruciating 'Curtis/Barry' stuff is okay with me.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

People at Cartoon Brew brought this up as well.

What I want to know is, what are they getting with this? Where's the punchline?

There might not be a punchline, and if there is, it'll be something completely random and unrelated to the plotline. I remember the ending to the 'Curtis sells illegal contraband to help his parents pay the bills' ended on a semi-serious note , until we got to Curtis telling Barry that his parents didn't love him as much since Curtis got off the hook with no punishment.

Billingsley doesn't know enough about the situation....the takeover of CGI didn't start when Disney bought Pixar. Anyone reading this board knows that as well, so I don't need to type the details.

Sue me if I like Curtis. Always have.

I want to see 'Pearls Before Swine' take a swipe at Disney.

That strip is hilarious. Pastis definitely ought to go for it.

That would be pretty funny, but I think Stephan Pastis likes mocking other comic strips/characters more than other media...could still happen,though...

Mad magazine ran this this brief comic strip called "Calvin and Jobs" with Steve Jobs as Calvin's imaginary friend. They actually took a stab at Wall-E that I thought was pretty truthful.

    It's the sixth strip.
