Disney Channel Asia's Top Dog Contest, Results Discussion
I apologize if such topics aren’t permitted and I know that this is somewhat old, but I never saw a topic about this and I figured it might be something worth discussing on this site. Disney Channel Asia had a contest back in January of this year where fans could log onto their site and vote on some contestants, in which the winner would be crowned the ‘Top Dog’ of the Disney Channel. The below characters are the ones who were in the contest, though I’ve also included the series that they were entered under along with, to provide more information.
Lucky – 101 Dalmatians: The Series
Rolly – 101 Dalmatians: The Series
Spot – 101 Dalmatians: The Series
Brandy – Brandy & Mr. Whiskers
Stitch – Lilo & Stitch
Goofy – House of Mouse
Pluto – House of Mouse
Fu Dog – American Dragon: Jake Long
I know that Stitch and Spot aren’t really dogs, though they were included in the contest and nothing can really be done about that. Regardless, Disney Channel Asia made a few mistakes, such as their claims that Brandy was a poodle and they also had the premise for 101 Dalmatians: The Series messed up in Rolly’s description, though aside from their mistakes and flaws, the fans still votes on the contest and the below characters were the top five who were selected.
First Place – Stitch
Second Place – Brandy
Third Place – Lucky
Fourth Place – Goofy
Fifth Place – Pluto
Personally, I’m glad Brandy Harrington managed to do somewhat well in this contest; I’m shocked that Brandy and Lucky managed to come out ahead of Goofy and Pluto, though since I love both Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, as well as 101 Dalmatians: The Series, I’m pleased with the results. I never cared much for Lilo & Stitch, though Stitch won the contest and I suppose that’s a good thing for Lilo & Stitch Fans. Still, I believe that Cadpig would have stood a better chance than Spot; I don’t quite understand why they had Lucky, Rolly and Spot, but they excluded Cadpig, who seems to be a favorite amongst most fans.
If you have something to say about the results of this contest, perhaps you can reply; I’m not sure if this is an accurate portrayal of Asia’s interest in the characters, though I found the results to be somewhat unexpected. Regardless, I posted this on other forums in the past and people seemed somewhat interested, so I figured I’d try to start up a discussion on the subject here. If you’d like to see the results page of the contest for yourself, the below URL goes to the page in question.

I always did wonder how both Goofty and Pluto are dogs, yet only one of them is a pet dog that walks on all fours...

Goofy::Pluto as Human::Chimpanzee

Goofy is techically a goof.
So to go with Darking's comparison, this is a more correct one:
Goofy:Goof as Walt Disney:Human
