    Another Disney Sequel

    Like This Thread!
Moviehole reports that the upcoming sequel to the animated classic "101 Dalmatians" is good enough that it might be going to theatrical release instead of video.

Disney won't be happy until they've strip-mined everything. That tends to happen when you have terrible writers who can't come up with something new.

Let's see--a sequel to Peter Pan, 101 Dalmations, and Dumbo; but will they do a feature film of something worthwhile, like Gargoyles? No.

So I guess this means we'd better get ready for "Attack of the Clones," both from Star Wars and Disney...

I wonder how long we will have to wait for them to announce a sequel to Atlantis?

I don't know, Atlantis did pretty badly (We're not likely to see a sequel to the Emperor's New Groove either, but that's just my prediction). But I think they're planning a Tarzan 2 and a Mulan 2.

I think I've said this before, but can't they find a way to use their talent on coming up with one, new, good movie instead of a million cheap sequels?

I thought they had some totally new projects coming out.

Isn't there a movie called Lilo and Stitch by them due out in the coming year?

They have both new animated features and direct to video features coming. Lilo & Stitch is coming next summer, I believe.

I guess there making a television series for Atlantis, and I haven't even gotten to see the movie yet! I hear a lot of rumours going around about Mulan 2 though.

Nah, I think that series got canceled due to the crappiness of Atlantis.

I really think they're running out of ideas. I've been telling that to people for quite awhile now. Instead of copying other people's fairy tales or what have you, why can't they just come up with their own original story? I really don't think I can sit through another sequel featuring the offspring of former heroes. I don't want to sound mean, but I really don't like Disney, and this is just dropping an ice cube down my back as far as I'm concerned.

This is just too much. If I have to hear about yet another 101 Dalmations (103 Dalmations, 101 plus 12 Dalmations, etc) movie, I'll... I'll throw a fit Why can't they just leave their movies alone? I want Cinderella and the other classics to stay the way they are! This is just like The Land Before Time... they're really beating it to death with those darn continuences (sp?). But, if they must, they better be pretty darn good

i know, it really is just sad. i am a huge disney fan, and i usually just avoid those dtv sequels, inorder to leave the original movies alone in my head. although i heard simba's pride was good, but i still havent seen it, probably never will unless its airs on the disney channel or something.

but i will see peter pan 2 when it comes out, even though it will probably suck. if its a theatrical release, then i'll give it a shot, cause maybe they put more time/energy/and talent into making it if its in theaters.

AND I LOVED ATLANTIS! if they make a crappy sequal to it i will be seriously po.

but i liked most of their series. aladdin was cool and the hercules series was actually pretty good. just imo.

"And Team Atlantis (the series) is dead. BUT, if I haven't mentioned this before, they will be releasing a direct to video sequel. This is really three episodes of what WOULD have been the series strung together with a brief but (I think) impressive framing plot. So you will get the opportunity to get a taste of what the series might have been like." just not the episodes with Demona. http://www.s8.org/cgi-bin/ag_read.cgi?Team_Atlantis

I'm sorry, but Atlantis was god awful...and I was especially upset because it had so much potential (I was impressed that they actually did some actual research and didn't just have a bunch of water-breathing humans!).

The problem is that Disney has strip-mined just about every fairy tale for a film that they possibly can. They've run out of stories with European settings, so now they're going to other continents (Asia, South America). However, I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to Mulan--that movie kicked ass!

Hey, what about a Disney movie set in Norse myth? Oh, wait...they'll make it all goofy like Hercules.

Disney's theatrical department is pretty good... I'll admit to liking the majority of the stuff they release. And from what I've heard, there's a lot of good buzz on Lilo and Stitch. But their video department is abysmal... they're the ones that crank out all the sequels, the Tigger Movie, etc. etc. Someone needs to reign them in.

Their video department is sad to say the least. Their sequel to THE LITTLE MERMAID has been the ebst thing to come out fo there, and I wouldn't call that a compliment. They butchered LOIN KING 2 by completely re-editing the ending. If they kept the original ending intact, that would have definatly put the movei up a notch or two in my book.

What was the original ending of LK2?

Anyway, onto Gargoyles... Dunno how many of you read the Atlantis link in my last post... But what do you think about some sort of in-company crossover? Atlantis is the only serious one I see working, but it is a field with quite a bit of opportunities. Certainly I'd love to see Demona in Cinderella 2.

Here was the original ending, and some cut out scenes, from LK2. There are spoilers, so highlight to read.

    Spoiler:

There were supposed to be two or three very short scenes showing the suicidal nature of the lead villian character, including dialogue about her "coming to be with Scar" by he rown means.

During the final climactic battle, there was a scene where she was supposed to rant and rave about how her life doesn't matter.

And when she's dangling over the water in the climax, she was supposed to have a little speech before letting herself drop. Apparently a different angle for her drop was animated as well.

I think that would've made the movie a bit better. The villian was so one dimensional I could see through her.
