    Question! Question!

Okay, this is D*sney-related, but.....well......kick me off the boards, fine. I heard a rumor about a Roger Rabbit 2 movie. Has this happened, or has anyone heard about anything like this? Or is it just a rumor?
And besides, most people look at this type of topic unrealistically. They are all under the apparent misconception tha--oh, wait. Is my post over? Ah, okay.

We had a talk about many Disney sequels on a discussion on the Anigen board, and RR2 came up. The big problem was, the movies, including RR2, were all on a list to be actual sequels...

...sigh, it's gonna be a sad day when that comes out...doesn't Disney know when to quit on the sequel business?

    Answer! Answer!

Well, it is planned, but it hasn't gotten very far. Spielburg and Disney don't quite see eye to eye on a few matters of the film, mainly, storyline. This has been going on for about 8 or so years, and nothing has really materialized.

Somewhere, I thought there was a post about the status of the next Roger Rabbit movie, but I can't seem to find it.

It was only a rumor. A few drafts have been written, Alan Menken would do songs...The only problems lie in...

Well, I can sum it up in 5 words-Bad deals and bad blood. Jim Hill's columns on www.laughingplace.com can provide you with a better explanation. Go into his column's archives, and there you'll find your answers!

    That's okay.

So, it's not gonna be made? Good thing, it would've bombed out, and I mean that in a bad way. I mean, now that Eddie's all friendly with toons, what kind of plot can there be?!

Well, then again, there was Toons and Doom, and that didn't come out bad, now, did it?

BTW, at LaughingPlace.com, I played 'Guess the Picture'. Want a hint? Don't.

Well, I heard that the original idea for a RR sequel would have put the gang back a few years into WWII, and people who read the script thought it was pretty darn good. But Spielberg nixed it, because he didn't want Nazis portrayed as anything less than deadly serious monsters.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was originally a book called Who Censored Roger Rabbit. There was a sequel to the book called Who P-p-p-plugged Roger Rabbit. I haven't read either of the books, but I have heard that they should be avoided at all costs. The original book was fixed up a lot for the movie.

Ooh, more lots on which to comment. Lessee, first, we can talk D*sn*y here, as has been made clear on previous threads. Second, there were Warner chars in Roger Rabbit too, you know. Third, it's not just the Mouse that seems addicted to sequels; P*k*m*n 4, a 3rd Rugrats movie, etc. Fourth, I wouldn't think Spielberg would want to work with the mouse again, would he? Wasn't that part of why Dreamworks was formed, to take the Mouse down a few pegs? (co-founded by estranged former studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg)

From what I heard, the project was nixed because of money issues. Too bad, since the plot summary I had read (I forgot where exactly it was) sounded interesting.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.
