    Another Disney Sequel Coming

    Like This Thread!
www.comingsoon.net reports that a sequel to HERCULES is in the works. Here's the info:

Hercules is now living in Athens with Megara and their daughter,
Hebe. However when an old friend named Helen is captured by the evil
Paris of Troy, Hercules joins the united Greek army as they head out to
war. However this war will create revelations, including Hercules finding
an old friend that went missing...

There will be new characters including, of course, a kid. Another *great* Disney sequel...

Yup. Another straight to vid affair. They got HUNCHBACK 2, TARZAN 2, MULAN 2, CINDERELLA 2, LION KING 3, DUMBO 2, JUNGLE BOOK 2, PETER PAN 2 (theatrical), and a possible LADY & THE TRAMP 3 in the works. They really do know how to ruin their movies and milk them for every penny.

ARGH!! The attack of the sequels!

Who wants to bet that the kid will somehow be the focus of this movie? Or is it KWB that I'm thinking of right now?

I'd imagine it's the same Helen from the tv show(voiced by Jodi Benson). She was a classmate of his and all. I'd think the missing old friend will be one of Herc's 2 best school-day buddies like Icarus or Cassandra. But it's just a first draft, so they may just stick in a new character out of the blue like in LATT2.

    Why can't it stop?

Wow...it seems that Archie Bunker was involved in the development of this movie (Obscure joke, kids! Ask your parents! )

Just another movie to ignore. I mean, really, who here, besides die hard Disney fans and gullible parents, will want to buy these videos?

I just can't see anything good coming of any of these DTV movies. The animation ain't that great and the recent sequels all had essentially the same plot.

Think they'll make a sequel to the "classic" movie Titanic: The Animated Movie?

Well, this sounds like the Trojan War with Herc thrown in, so I wouldn't be surprised if the missing friend was Odysseus, main char. in the Iliad and the Odyssey. He was on those voyages for a long time, as I recall, so long that his family assumed that he was dead.

It's nice to see Disney destroy history and classic literature, isn't it, kids?

I remember a Robert Smigel animated short on SNL called "Titey". It featured the voices of (and I'm not making this up) Jason Alexander, Whoopi Goldberg, Gilbert Gottfried and Molly Ringwald. I'm pretty sure that they also used the announcer for several Disney trailers; Brian Cummings (I don't know if he's related to Jim) is his name, I believe. I loved the line at the end: "Buy this, or your children will hate you." That seems to be Disney's thinking about the drivel they're gonna put out.

Believe it or not, they're considering "101 Dalmatians 2" as a future project. It's official: I hate Disney. As if "101 Dalmatians: the Series" wasn't enough of an insult...

On an up note, one of the best Disney films aired last night on ABC: "The Emperor's New Groove". It's even funnier the second time. If you have anything even remotely resembling a sense of humor, you'll rent it, buy it...oh, hell, just watch it! You'll be glad you did. Okay, so I don't hate Disney, but I'm very angry at them.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

SAID BY JOE TULLY:It's nice to see Disney destroy history and classic literature, isn't it, kids?
Imagine some of the test answers that may pop up...

....but it's truly sad. Disney's greatest tales (some of them) being hacked up to peices with a sequel. The plots will be rehashes of #1, I'm very certain. Only with the fact the previous hero's happy with a family and leader of the area, and the kid taking up the mantle as Jowy said.

With Disney in financial trouble is also part of the reason they're doing this, most new films have not been good sellers. Execs think we want to see our fav char's lifes again...we do, in a way... but not in the future like this!

...On the WB Club board there was talk of a Roger Rabbit 2 movie...it was actually worked on for a bit, but thankfully it was forced to be scrapped.

Mulan 2 would be awesome. I always liked the first one. But I highly doubt they could think of a plot for a second one. And yet alone get Eddie Murphey back as Mushu.

They could always get a sound-alike like they did for the Aladdin TV series and sequels. Though I think they might have brought back Williams for the 3rd Aladdin movie...

God, this sounds awful. Paris was stupid, sure, but evil? Herakles was DEAD by the time of the Trojan War! Hebe is supposed to be Hera and Zeus's daughter, dangit!

This missing friend? Twenty bucks says Philoctetes. He did disappear for most of the war but Achilles' son Neoptolemos fetched him because they couldn't win without him. Of course, he wasn't a satyr, either, so maybe I should rethink that bet....

Man, Cap, what a pun! It gave me the Hebe-jeebies!

During the show and 2nd movie Dan Castadenda played Genie. Other roles include Homer Simpson and Grandpa from "Hey Arnold".

I can't say that I'm all that surprised anymore. I think we should all write a protest letter to Disney to tell them how foolish they're being.

The Hercules tv show had him going to school with Cassandra, Icarus, Helen, maybe Odysseus' son Telemachus(I just remember seeing an ep with him), dating Medusa... The whole thing's a chronological mess, more concerned with using the wealth of available characters/stories from the whole Greek canon and altering it for the Disney Afternoon format.

    Except one.

How's this for Hercules 2? Hercules goes to Thebes after getting word from Oedipus that the Sphinx has returned. Oedipus had defeated it some years before, but it has returned and can only be stopped by force this time. Or is something else going on in the city that allows the Sphinx to strike unabated?

Which gives me a chance to plug my Chicken Boo as Oedipus fanfic....

The Sphinx committed suicide when Oedipus answered the question. Not that that would slow Disney down.
