Should C.N. OR W.B. Make A new Batman Animated Series???

    Like This Thread!
In my opinion, I think they should. B.B. is soon gonna get cancelled and everything so I think the other best thing other than making the JLA Series is having a Batman Series! Though the only problem is, if they start making it now, it would most likely come out middle of next year . I think they should have all the voice cast come back and if the how is popular make at least 3 Batman Animated movies in One Year ! Ok, time for a few questions:

Should they change the costume design, if so, to what?

Should it take place in the same continuity as TNBA or should it be in the past or in the near future of TNBA? Why?

HOPE YOU GUYS REPLY! I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR GUYS THOUGHTS!

Of course I think they should!!! And Kevin Conroy would have job security that not too many actors have!!!

Of course, I think the current JLA show should have a healthy run before they delve into that territory. Then I think they should start from year one and go from there.

    Somethings should be different

There is no point in having a new Batman series unless there is a twist, and right now, going back to the beginnings of a character is VERY popular, with the Ultimate line at Marvel starting from ground zero to the new Enterprise TV series to the Batman Year One move. And given that there will be a Batman Year One movie, an animated series to tie in to that would be a logical step.

    Re: Somethings should be different

First off, i think they should keep the same voices and the same continuity if they were to make a new one. I also think that they should give JL some time first.

I read somewhere that before Timm and the gang made BB, they were debating whether or not do set the new series in the future, or in the time when Bruce is just starting out and training, or something like that. And since the new movie is YEAR ONE, maybe the latter would be a good idea.

But isn't it pretty clear that "On Leather Wings" takes place early in his Batman career?

I like the start from the beginning idea, but I think it would work just as well if we picked up where TNBSA left off and go from there. "BTAS Returns!" if you will. :-)

But in that little joke title of mine is where my one condition lies. The format of making cells and animating episodes must be done in the style that BTAS originally did in 92.

I think that they should creat a new batman cartoon.
Not on the WB, they'll replace it with Poke'mon episodes (I have to wash my hands again for typing it.)

I'd rather not have them do a year one show. Between Mask of the Phantasm and some of the early BATS ep's we already got this.

I'd much rather have the next series keep in line with what I've grown to love and either tell the events that lead to Batman Beyond or lead to another future. There are still a huge amount of stories, both original and comic adaptations, that are left to be told.

Year one would give us a chance to see Batman against the mob and street gangs and the origins of the rogues galley, but I don't really want a rehash of Heart of Ice or Feat of Clay.

Continuing where TNBA and/or JL leaves off lets them continue to develop the great characters (those that are still there) recreate classics that haven't been used for various reasons, and create new ones. Plus they can always bring back organized crime elements. And then there was the other element that I've always loved about the animated series over the comics. They age Batman. In the comics he's been how old for how many years? (I'm asking because I haven't really followed the comics in years.) In BATS he was in his early to mid 30's, in TNBA he was in his early 40's. It adds an element of realism and we get to see the toal his war takes on him over the years.

I have to say that both sides make great arguements for their ideas here! I love this kind of debate on the boards!

Ok, some of you got me thinking about a series that picks up where the last one left off....well, I don't know if they should do that. Perhaps let JLA run its course, then if they decide to do a new Batman series, let it pick up where JLA leaves off. Either series would be great, and undobtedly Timm could pull off either, but if the series picked up where JLA leaves off (and they could really set the series up towards the end of JLA to give it alot of continuity), they could fill in some of the gaps that didn't get covered in the Batman Beyond run. I agree it would be interesting to see the latter age of Batman, a series that covers his career up to the time we see him at the beginning of Batman Beyond.

Here's an idea....how about a series that picks up where Return of the Joker left off? Think about it? I don't think that a series that takes us to ROTJ would be that different and therefore that more interesting than the original series was, but to see a Batman series where he has to deal with all these new aspects would be quite interesting. Unfortunately, we wouldn't see the Joker in such a series, but Harley would be there and we could be introduced to her granddaughters (WHO DID HARLEY QUINN HAVE A CHILD WITH?) and we would see the formation of the Jokerz (which I liked, for better than worse.)

A series that would pick up after ROTJ would be a more interesting premise.

    Batman Story Arcs!

Hey Guys! Thankx for replying! I love all of those ideas1

How About This: BATMAN STORY ARCS FROM THE COMICS

Maybe they could do these big story arcs from the Batman comics

    KNIGHTFALL

Imagine what they could do with this if it were turned into a Batman movie! i would follow the novel storyline since the comic book wasn't that detailed. If they bring guys like Paul Dini and Bruce Timm to do this, it would be a huge movie, maybe better than Mask of the Phantasm if it's done right!

There are also other story arcs like: No Man's Land, Death in a Family, Lonely Place of Dying.....

    YES!

YES! YES! YES! OH GOD YES!

Haven't we all basically been hoping for this within the fiber of our being? And my vote for movie subject matter? The movie that answers ALL the unanswered questions from the last Batman animated episode to the first Batman Beyond episode.

But JUSTICE LEAGUE can technically be called a Batman series. It takes place after TNBA and before BB. Sure it likely won't bridge any gaps, but it is a new Batman series. Then again, it can also be considered a new Superman series as well.

Where did that information come from?

I was under the impression that the new JLA series was in the same "universe" as the other animated series. Surely, Bruce Timm would throw things in there that weren't answered in Batman Beyond? Why wouldn't he?

I don't see this as either a Batman series or a Superman series. This is a JLA series all the way to me.
