Scarecrow/Harley Quinn Connection?
At the beginning of the episode Harley's Holiday there is a scene where the Scarecrow is being led to his cell by Batman and Robin. He's busy ranting and raving like a lunatic, but when he passes by Harley Quinn he pauses and talks to her in a civil manner. It went something like this:
Harley Quinn: Hi, Professor Crane.
Scarecrow: Good evening, child.
Then he goes back to shouting again.
I didn't think much of this, but then I read Mad Love (the comic book one-shot) and came to the part in the issue where they delve into Harley's history. In it, they mention how Harley Quinn got her degree in psychology from Gotham University by sleeping with her professors. Then I remembered how Professor Crane, at the time, was a member of that very same department.
You don't suppose...

That's funny, I never thought about that. How would the Joker react? That would be a funny story...

Ha!....That is BRILLIANT!

That is an interesting connection. I just assumed he was being nice to her becuase she was nice to him. She mentioned in an episode how they were friends. (In Harlequinade I think)

So what your saying is...
Wow, so Harley possibly used unconventional means with Crane to graduate. It makes perfect sense that she would because in Harley?s Holiday she was always flirting with my Batman. So the connect is plain as day.

Its quite possible though that Dini was hinting about Harley and Professor Crane because we did see that one shot of one of her professors........

Very interesting. Someone should write that, even as a fanfic it'd be cool. Man, I hate it how I never notice this sorta stuff.

Hey, that's a great insight! If they decided to explore this further in the Harley Quinn comic book, I'd pick it up!
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
“If I had to live my life over again, I would treat women worse. The women who I treated nice always turned around and treated me bad and the women who treated me bad didn’t deserve to be treated nice anyway.”

I'm convinced. Fantastic catch on that one! Thanks for posting your suspicion!

The Girl Needs Love
Thanks everybody. Harley Quinn has always struck me as the token groupie for Gotham City's "lunatic elite." She's had romantic interests in the Joker, Batman, Scarecrow (allegedly)--plus her "are they or aren't they" quasi-flirtation with Poison Ivy.
There must have been something going on in her past--some kind of abuse that now draws her into these psychotic relationships.
