    Comic/Show Cross Promotion

    Like This Thread!
This just occured to me, why did Kids'WB! promote the comic spin offs on their channel? How hard could it be? All they have to do is create a monthly 30 second commercial about that month's issue of Batman Beyond, or whatever. About 8 - 10 million kis watch KWB on Saturdays, which would make this a smart move. Even if 10% of the audince bought the book, that's 1 million copies! Or if 1% bought the book, that's 100,000 issues, making it in the top 10 for sure. The series may still be around if they did that...

That WOULD be a smart move!

Too bad KidsWB! is too dumb to figure that out.

    See ya!

    Re: Comic/Show Cross Promotion

Why don't they do that? Well because that would be a smart thing to do, that's why. And you know how thinking isn't one of our suits' strong points.

    Suffice to say

DC (and thus Warner) have never been too bright when it comes to promoting their kids comics. There is no reason they aren't moving millions of these things each month, especially the Looney Toons comics. It just comes down to promotion and marketing, and we have all seen from Iron Giant that they certainly don't know how to do this.

Having cartoons about the comics on Kids WB would be an excellent idea. After all, what pulled me into comics was the fact that I loved watching Spider Man and His Amazing Friends every week and Marvel made darn sure I would find a Spider Man comic rather easilly. Then again, Marvel has typically known how to market their comics and get kids into them.

Kids today watch Batman on Kids WB then go to the drug store...and find nothing. They go to the grocery store...and find nothing (Hy Vee, a pretty big grocery store chain, dropped comics from their stores, at least in the two I shop in. I don't know if that's in all their stores). They go to the book store...and there is a hope they will find something, but the comic book sections I have seen in the magazine part of book stores only have a smattering of titles available, and they are never the same from month to month. And those kids will never know about these comic books unless somebody tells them about them, because they sure as heck aren't going to the comic book stores because they aren't hooked yet.

If I was in charge of Kids WB, I'd have commercials for the comics AND I would make sure that every store kids went to, those comics were on display and visible to the kids rather easilly. And I would make all my comics a buck, even if I had to print them on cheaper paper. Kids need to be able to afford these things!
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

maybe other advertisers are just taking up all of their commercial time........they're probably paying a lot of money to reach all of those kids

They would find the air time if it was important to them. The fact is, it isn't important to them!

Ok, I get tired of posting these as a new thread...so I will say it here with little fan fare (as if anybody gives a rat's tail at this point!)....this is my post #300. Only 39 to go to reach my previous number from the old boards! I thought this would take much longer.

Then why not during their ending credits. That would be the ideal place. Instead they plug the same commercial over and over. I hate the split screen thing!
