who is this new Green Lantern

Anyone got any ideas about who he is, and if he can measure up to Hal Jordan (yeah right). He might be a good Lantern, but I don't know much about him.
Does anyone know any thing about him.

Welcome to the boards. I'm the head guy around here (sorta) so I'd like to say hello! Anyays, the GL on the JL series is John Stewart, and he was a GL in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I dont know much about him, but I'm sure someone can help us out...

John Stewart in The comics replaced Hal Jordan when he decided to retire for awhile to lead a nice quite life with his woman Carol Ferris. He was Green Lantern for sometime even after Hal Jordan decided to come back at which time they assigned John to another sector. John Stewart met and eventually married another member of the GLC Katma Tui (I think thats her name). She was later killed ( I dont remember the situation) and John later became crippled (I think as a member of The Darkstars I dont remeber why he lost his ring). And currently is like a mentor to the newest Lantern Kyle Rayner.

She was killed by the Silver Age Star Sapphire. Which put Hal in a greeeeeeeat situation as SS was a possessed Carol Ferris, his boss and sometimes g-friend.
