This talkback is up a little early, isn't it?

Anyway, if there were an episode in Season One to get excited about, it would be this one. This is The Duck Dodgers/Green Lantern Crossover where Dodgers finds a GL suit and has to team up with the Green Lantern corp to defeat Sinistro. It should be a great episode, if "Shiver Me Dodgers" was only a taste of what half hour episodes could be like (according to Joe Alasky). So read and review here. And that's it.

This was a perfect episode of DD. Hilarious jokes (first duck to master flight, Cadet, Dodgers using the shoe to block the door, the high school bots), awesome references (Spider-Man, Alvin, Jon Stewart, etc.).

The only problem was not enough Hal Jordan. I want more Kevin Smith.

What an amusing episode this was. I had my doubts when I first heard about it, but in the end it was great. It was something you didn't expect to happen in the Dodgers universe.

I would've liked it if it was a Hal Jordan/Dodgers team-up, but this works well.

Maybe Kevin Smith would like to guest star on JL as Hal Jordan or something. (I'm not really familiar with comic book continuity so I'm saying that).

Good stuff. It struck me as interesting how many of the Green Lanterns (such as Ch'p and G'nort) translated pretty well into "Looney Tunes" style. I am a bit concerned, however, that some JL fans might come here and start an argument about how these GLs are "properly" using their powers (giant fists, catchers mitts, big shoes, etc.).

Meh. I could see how this would be a wet dream for fans of both Dodgers and Green Lantern, but I can't say it was that great of an episode. I don't think I laughed once, which is unusual for this show. "Shiver me Dodgers" was good, but I think it would be best if they stick to shorter cartoons.

How could you not laugh at Dodgers & Cadet's banter at the beginning or when Dodgers said he was the first of his species to master flight, then a flock of Daffys come outta nowhere and fly by him?

what i'm wondering is, how would all those gl's of our era possibly get to the 24th century, or how could they trust laundromats far beyond their lifetimes to do their laundry properly. but this, after all, is duck dodgers. what's there to make sense? Especially since this might not be official canon of green lantern history, just for this episode.

hey, sometimes they have a sense of humor.

i guess jon stewart wasn't invited... oh well.. and do realize ch'p and g'nort aren't the most, ehm, well known of the corps, or the most serious of them.

Jon was invited. He was in the pan of the GLs at the beginning of the fight. A cameo, but an appearence nonetheless.

Sampo. We need that screenshot, S.T.A.T.!

He looked for the most part like he does in JL, except in LT-style.

    Rating: A+. Def'nitely A+.

Next to the "Shiver Me Dodgers" episode, this had to be the funniest Duck Dodgers ep all season (so far, of course), and "Green Loontern" was more fun to watch than the entire first season of Justice League. For instance, how many of you found yourselves reciting the Green Lantern oath, even if you hadn't heard it spoken since Filmation's Green Lantern days?

And did any of you catch the voice of John Stephenson as the Oan elder? Or the lantern scene-change that sounded like the scene-change sound from Challenge of the Superfriends?

The Emerald Comedy: My Review of "The Green Loontern"

I waited months to see this one. Silver Age Green Lantern is one of my favorite Super Heroes. The bit with Sinestro's bots having a high school rivalry is great. I give a perfect *****.

Yea, I loved that part. They just had to get a reference to Superfriends in there, didn't they?

"I have the strength of 100...tiny trembling chiuauas(sp)!"

Even if the episode didn't involve Green Lantern, that line alone would make the episode great.

    3 out of 5.

    Zack and Zeke

It's kind of like ET, if you take out all of the emotion and turn it into a silly webcomic that's updated on Tuesdays and Thursdays
