    B:TAS-help

    Like This Thread!
I have read through some of the B:TAS threads already, and gone to both the WB and CH websites, and i am utterly confused. It sounds like CH is going, or has already released dvd collections in addition to VHS collections, and the WB might release box sets of B:TAS in the future. Is this information correct? And if so, is there any way to get the CH dvd/vhs collection other than subscribing to their website, could i find the same collection at suncoast or best buy or something? And is B:TAS even on tv anymore?

I don't know if and where B:TAS might still be airing on tv, but yes indeedie, Columbia House has released both VHS tapes and DVDs of the series. If you do a search, you'll find a whole thread here on these boards dedicated to the subject of their DVDs. Recent buzz from reliable sources has confirmed, however, that Warner Bros may come out with a B:TAS box set in the future. Whether or not it'll be a collection of their recently released DVDs, or a whole new, season-by-season format remains to be seen. Either way, expect news to pop up at Toonzone.net/news first!

guitarman163, have you checked out the thread "Columbia House 'Batman TAS' DVD Collection Talkback" yet? That will be a good one for that part of your questions. But, to sum up:

--WB boxed sets are still just rumors at this point, for sometime in '04.

--Columbia House does sell BTAS on DVD, 6 eps per disc, original air date order. The way to order it, though, is by phone (1-800-538-7766 or 1-800-692-1000); it's not on their website. The CH set cannot be purchased any other way than directly from CH. (Well, unless you count eBay; but it's guaranteed cheaper from CH.)

--CH reps will probably call the first DVD "Batman: Cat & Claw"; that is the right one.

--CH gives 20% off for commitment to buy the whole series, but you have to mention the deal to them. They'll also ship everything they have come out with so far (7 volumes at the moment; 8 through 10 are made but on backorder) in one immediate shipment, & future volumes as soon as they get 'em, without the usual 4 week wait, if you do take the deal.

--One MAJOR thing: CH is only commited to 10 volumes at the moment. So, whether you decide to order the CH set or not, it sure wouldn't hurt to call them at their Customer Service # (1-800-667-0364) & tell them you hope they'll do all 114 episodes in their DVD set, & not stop with 60.
NOTE: If you call Customer Service before you subscribe, there'll be a point where the automated system asks for your account #; just don't do anything, & it will finally connect you with a person. They'll ask for your account # too. Just tell them you don't have one yet, but you want to speak to a member of the Management Team.

Hope some of that is useful to you. I recommend you check out the full thread for more details than I can mention here.
