no Clayface? dang.
This was reported by regular poster THE MAD HATTER, who's at E3 as I type:
"Over at Ubi Soft, I got to see Batman: Vengeance game for PS2. Err... ya want the good news or bad news first?
Bad news: It looks like a medium-level N64 game, and the gameplay was pretty rough. Mind you, this is somewhat early in development, but if it comes out this year it'll feel a bit unpolished.
Good news: Plays better than the original S:TAS game already. You get to fly the Batplane. And, best of all, new CGI story sequences with the original voice cast! I got to see Mr. Freeze do his surly frost thing, Poison Ivy whip around plants, and Harley (with a big ole mallet), the Joker, and the Stooge Gang! There was a bit with Harley speaking, so I can assure you that we'll get a new storyline... and remember, the cartoon people are involved with the plot. So even if the game is a wash, this will be well worth checking out."
More info soon!

Hm, Batman games of late have been well...mediocre, so it shouldn't take much to improve on them. Anyone play Oni for PS2? That would make an awesome engine for a Batman game...

I never thought I'd be reading about E3......here.....kinda weird.....![]()
Hey:
Man I can't wait for this game to come out, it looks so cool. But if the controls are really bad then I probably won't like it, but there is still hope cause the game is in the early stages of development. And the best thing is that the oringle voices are coming back, and you get to control all of Batman's cars and planes. Sure i don't have a PS2, but since I have a job I'm sure I'll get one this year.![]()
Look up in the sky!
It's a Bird..... It's a plane...... No! It's Superman!
Stronger than a locamotive, faster than a speeding bullit, he is Superman!
Man of Steel
I'm back. Gawd, I'm tired.
Yeah, the game played pretty rough, but keep in mind that things are early. There's still time for Ubi Soft to fix things up before it's released.
As far as Clayface... keep in mind I only reported what I saw. They only showed a few bits of the game, he could be lurking there yet.![]()
DG forgot to copy n' paste another bit of news... Infogrames will be giving us another S:TAS game! There wasn't any game footage shown, but the guy I talked to said that part of the motivation in making the game was "the one done by those other guys sucked." There's hope yet....

Got that right! I'd say there's a lot of hope indeed and I'm totally psyched!!! Yeah so far the gameplay models look iffy (almost like Superman's finished product, but not as bad) but of course this is E3, we're talking about, not the official release date. Plus I've seen a bit of the cut scene movie clips that are between gameplay and they look great. You could tell they were going to put them in. Playstation likes to do that with their games (might I recommend Spiderman).
But another Superman game! This I haven't heard of! And the motivation for making the game is in itself some kind of assurance it's going to ROCK. If this bad boy's going to be for the Playstation 2 also (that's right: "Playstation two too") I might just have to buy this system. Heck I bought the first Playstation for the Marvel vs. Capcom line.

Now.
The Superman game is for the Playstation 2. It's being done by Infogrames. They do the Looney Tunes games, I think.
There was a hands-on impression of Batman: Vengeance at the IGN website- they pretty much agreed with Mad Hatter.
Also, Batman is coming to the Gamecube. And it isn't the animated Batman. It's called Batman: Dark Tomorrow and there's a movie you can download at IGN. Batman looks pretty much like the comic book version from the '80's. The movie actually seems pretty dark (but cool), which I think is a surprise because I thought the Gamecube was being marketed toward kids.

ARRRRRRGH!! The Gamecube is NOT being marketed toward kids!! That's just what the compeition wants you to think! Good lord, no one will give Nintendo a break in that respect. Obviously, these people have missed Perfect Dark, Conker, Eternal Darkness, etc. etc.
Yeah, I didn't see the Batman game till after I sent my first E3 post. I only got to see some pre-rendered CGI stuff, but it looked pretty cool.

WB games? Man, that's a tall order. I covered a lot of what I saw at E3 in my post on the WBC board, so check that out if you haven't already. But here's a brief run-down of what my sketchy memory remembers:
Sheep Raider (PS): Sam n' Ralph in the sheep stealing/guarding business.
Powerpuff Girls (GBA, PS, N64): Looks really, really bad. Superman-level bad. It's a fighting game, or at least an attempt at one.
Dexter's Lab (GBA): Looks less bad. Seems to be an isometric platformer, but it was on video only.
New Superman:TAS game (PS2): The guy I talked to promised me it would be better than the first one, and that it was based on an episode of the TV series. He couldn't remember which one, though.
Loons: The Fight For Fame (PS2): Looks to be based on the upcoming Looney Tunes movie, the one where the toons are booted in favor of Poochie-esque CGI things.
Harry Potter (PS, PC, GBA): Well, WB owns the rights, anyway. Early on, but looks pretty good.
Scooby Doo (GBA, PS2): Only got a brief look, but it seems pretty unpolished at this point... and it's coming out this year. My hopes aren't high.
Batman: Vengeance (PS2): I think I've told you everything I know... wait, no I haven't. You fight Killer Croc at one point on a subway car. He spits acid, for some reason.
Dragonball Z (PS2, maybe others): There was only footage of Goku flying around on his cloud, but he looked pretty iffy at this point.
Tweety and the Magical Jewel (GBA): It was shown at Nintendo's booth, but you'll forgive me if I didn't play it. I was too busy snorking up ghosts in Luigi's Mansion, beating the stuffing out of Pikachu in Smash Bros. Melee, and confronting dinos in Star Fox Adventures to check it out. Reviews of the Japanese version haven't been too high.
Batman (Cube): IGN said there was a playable version there, but I only saw a CGI sequence. Batman tackled some goons, while the Joker looked on menacingly.
Sorry I can't provide more in-depth details, but I soon discovered that covering the entire expo was nigh impossible.

Owch!! That's a kick in the head! I wish we knew. But there's hope for my confusion yet, with that non animated Batman game coming out for the Cube. I originally hated the idea of buying anoher system, but both Playstation2 and GameCube gave me reasons to, although they were only one or two reasons (games) each system. I'm still in a rut!Originally posted by The Mad Hatter
