I saw the ad too. The designs do seem to mesh pretty well with the other dc animated shows. I still think the designs could be better but im overall happy so far.Originally Posted by Mister Intensity
Today they aired a few commercials featuring the Teen Titans to promote the Sneak Peak of the show on May 3rd. I have to say that the designs look quite consistent with the other DCU shows once animated, proving once again, you can't judge an animated design without seeing them in action.

i gonna be watching next week, man superman on static and new titans you cant miss that!
I saw it just a few moments ago and was quite intrigued. From what I could see, it appeared that Robin still had the ridiculous looking shoes, but thankfully the rest of his design seemed relatively okay. I just get so sick watching it though, with how they've reduced Starfire to nothing more than a stick figure or something. Not to mention how disturbing it is to see her in the Teen Titans group where the Robin isn't Dick Grayson. For those that haven't read the comics/don't know what I mean then 1)you're missing some interesting stuff and 2)at least your shielded from being so disturbed like me.

We don't actually know for sure if Robin is going to be Tim Drake yet. Anyway, I saw the commercial and it didn't look as anime-ish as I thought it would...it really wasn't all that bad...I was surprised but Superman and Batman really kind of blended in with the more cartoony Titans, I was surprised about that...maybe it won't be ALL that bad after all.

Were Bats and Supes in the Teen Titains commercial? Hmmm...it would be interesting to see them appear in the first TT episode...although I'm still not sold on this series. I'll just have to wait and see...
I think it's strange that Kids WB will be offering a sneak peek, when the show is premiering on Cartoon Network first.
Cause I kind of doubt Kids WB will even mention Cartoon Network.
did anyone notice robin had a staff in his hand in one shot? Mabey his Bo staff.

Were Bats and Supes in the Teen Titains commercial?
They appeared in the same commercial becuase the commercial was plugging both the "Superhero Stuffed Saturday" next Saturday, as well as plugging the "Teen Titans" sneek peek. The commercial showed scenes from "Hard As Nails," "Toys In The Hood," various Kids'WB! shows, and clips from "Teen Titans." I was surprised at how the style for "Teen Titans" did actually mesh with the regular animated style. Then again, I was more excited to see Superman in that clip.

Plus the design resembles the Tim Drake from Static Shock the most, TNBA style as well, so it would be so odd to draw him with the Tim Drake look and then it not be him.

Your right i mean its gotta be Tim Drake cause "hard as nails" static asked batman where robin was which was tim drake and he said he's with the titans, my one problem is what the hell did they do to poor ol' cyborg?Originally Posted by Barb Gordon

Unless they're gonna throw us for a loop, all signs point to it being Tim. Mainly just because of Static's "Where's Robin?" question in "Hard as Nails", with Batman answering "With the Titans". The only Robin Static ever met was Drake, so it'd have to be him. Then again, the designs are completely different from what Robin appeared, so it could actually throw us for a loop.Originally Posted by Barb Gordon
No matter, I'm gonna try to get as many screengrabs as I can from the preview, so look for those next weekend, along with screens from "Toys in the Hood"...

There's a couple of things I'm still confused about...
(1) Which channel is Teen Titans going to be on -- Kids' WB or the Cartoon Network?
(2) Have their been any formal announcements stating that Teen Titans will indeed fall into contiunity with B:TAS, TNBA, S:TAS, and JL? I thought they had announced that at some point, making it a forgone conclusion (especially after SS "Hard As Nails") that Robin was indeed Tim Drake...
I'm so confused, and will be upset if Teen Titans does NOT fall into B:TAS, TNBA, S:TAS, and JL continuity (OK, so I'm one of the continuity-obsessed fans, I admit it...)

Favorites! (1) Action: Transformers & G.I. Joe; Visionairies; The DCAU; Robotech, DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo & Trigun; TMNT, MOTU; and Avengers: EMH; (2) Comedy: The Simpsons & Futurama, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast & The Brak Show, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, ATHF, The Boondocks, The Venture Bros., and Archer
1) The Sneak Peek will air on Kids WB next week. It will make its official premiere on Cartoon Network this fall and will eventually move to the regular Kids WB lineup (which is the reverse arrangement with most WB shows where Kids WB shows go to CN). At least, those are the plans last I heard of them.Originally Posted by Squall
2) I believe creators are stressing that this is in continuity. Static Shock is being tied in with the crossover eps, so we must assume that the Titans exist in Static's universe. Of course, canon is what you want it to be, so you don't have to swallow TT if you don't want to...
As for the commercial, I thought the designs looked better in action. Robin's hair and body proportions look normal and Beast Boy's face looks...like a face. I didn't catch too many glimpses of the other characters, but I assume they've been tweaked accordingly to.
If Robin isn't Tim Drake, then I'll just give up trying to make connections.

did anybody catch any screens from the commercial/ preview?
Teen Titans is premiering in the summer, not the fall.
I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that "Hard As Nails" was in production long before the Teen Titans was started, but it was thought about...Batman said "Titans" not "Teen Titans." So that doesn't confirm anything, it could have just been the adult version of the Teen Titans from the upcoming series, also, as I said before, it could have been a mix up since it was made first and it wasn't yet decided...also, a number of reliable sources have hinted that it is Dick Grayson...one mentioned that it will be a certain "Flying Grayson." That's good enough for me, and while I neither beleive or disbelive that Robin is going to be Dick Grayson for sure or not, there's no way to know for sure. Then there are also things that support it being Tim Drake, like for example the Staff, but that still proves nothing, and nothing I am saying proves anything either, but I just am trying to be open minded about it. I doubt that it will be Dick Grayson too, but I wouldn't bet my money on it. I'm not that sure. I'd definitly rather it be Dick Grayson, even though he does look stupid in design, he's supposed to be the same age as Starfire so they can be in love and blaw blaw, not Tim Drake. And at least he has Green Pants, the Tim Drake Robin had red pants. So that's another thing that could suggest that the Robin on the new Teen Titans series is Dick Grayson. But then again, that's nothing concrete.
Someone mentioned that if Robin is Dick Grayson, it wouldn't be in continuity...that's not true, if the show took place a few years before "Batman: The Animated Series" did, like sometime in the 1980s, then it would be within the same continuity, just not the same time period. Just like Jonah Hex is from the 1800s and Superman from the 2000s. There was a number of years in Robin's career that wasn't shown on B:TAS, maybe this corronicles them. I don't know, but it could be. Maybe we'll see Robin's most immature years in this series...we'll have to wait and see...but I won't be satisfied if it's Tim Drake and not Dick Grayson, but it will probably be Tim Drake.
By the way, anybody got any screen shots from this commercial?

Uh...I think you're saying this show would come before ANY other show chronologically...Well, what sense would that make if the initial press release said it was "futurisitc?"
And our sources are not always "reliable." But let's assume they are for that "one of the Flying Graysons" remark.
The only option left would be one of Dick's younger siblings. If....he....had...any...
And that still doesn't explain Tim, because how could he be with an adult form of the Titans if the Teen Titans were just formed???
Headache....splitting headache...

the show never specifically mentions Tim or Dick... it's either Robin, or Robbie. with that said, there are two obvious signs... Starfire & well, you'll have to watch for a year to understand.

Given the recent information provided, I have a question: Was it ever stated that the Robin in the Static Shock crossover episode was Tim Drake? I know it was kind of assumed, but I was wondering if there were any dialogue bits or official announcements that indicated so.
Also, this sounds like interesting news. I'm definately looking foward to checking out this series. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to catch the commercial, but a few of my concerns have been put to rest. If Robin were Dick (as seems to be the case), that would be pretty cool, but I'm also wondering how it would fit into continuity. It could potentially be a prequel series... or... well, I'm not completely sure what other explanation might work. Any thoughts?
