What is it that you like most? I agree that Batman had a nice little gang fight w/ the Jokerz, but what else were you gonna say???
Upon perusing my BB video collection I decided to watch Once Burned again.
First, let me say that I really like this episode. It's a melancholic piece of work. Very moody. The love the music that underscores Ten gives me chills everytime I hear it. I also admire both Ten and Bats' gall-they both bite off more than they can chew: Ten takes on a room of renowned gangsters and Bats takes on, what, all the Jokerz?
Batman fight's is one I most impressed with. More so the way it is choreographed. First, as when we come back from commercial break, we get a 360 degree camera spin- gotta love that. Then Bats goes off taking out as many Jokerz as he can (like six of them). He even slashs one of them off screen with the glove/claw. Also, if you watch closely you see almost every Jokerz member featured during the series: Terminal's crew (minus their leader), Scab and co., and even the Jokerz that harass Ro in Countdown. Pretty schway, huh?
But what I like the most is

I personally thought that the scene ware the mobsters were chasing Ten was pretty cool. That's one thing I miss in BB characters like Rupert Thorne.
That's absolutely one of the best fight scenes in the series. It looks great, too, becuase it's before that damn computer coloring kicked in! The dark muted painted colors just look great!

I think sometimes we forget how good a BB episode is until looking back at it. Once Burned really had what a Batman episode should. I also loved the Jokerz fight scenes too. And I love to see my favorite Jokerz too (especially when Batman pounds on em). The J-Man guy, who looks the most like our Joker, and who is the leader of the gang that Terry first slapped around in Rebirth. My other favorite is that big burly black guy because of his sick twisted line in Rebirth as he takes out a knife, "let's put a smile on his face!"
I sort of feel sorry for Ten....I mean Melanie. This time it wasn't a Catwoman act. She's not addicted to stealing. It's just that her family duped her. Of course, there'd still be that matter of Dana anyway. I love things like the Ten/Melanie thing and Terry's Inque confrontations because it's stuff like that which reminds Terry of the bitterness in the Batman persona's life.

At least it's nice to see a villian rehabilitated, even though she wasn't really one...I think. I really enjoyed KING'S RANSOM becuase it showed her leading a good, honest life. I hope the upcoming issue of the BATMAN BEYOND COMIC #23 doesn'y ruin that.

Was it really smart to tell Melanie that she almost got murdered by six gangsters for a loyalty test? Why not tell her, "We only just now escaped our kidnappers ..." Then they use the money to celebrate.
Not telling her would make her "count her blessings," and worse than ever.
They thought she'd be happy, and they thought that she'd be happy. Ya know, they thought they were pleasing both sides, but things didn't work out.

They used the 360 camera angle from that episode in the show's opening. I love the part when the gang member jumps on Batman Beyond while he is trying to climb into the batmobile, and Batman batarangs the joker in the face.
ACE IN THE HOLE had another wicked fight scene. Favorite part- Just as Batman is about to inject the Serastone enhanced mutant dog with a tranquilizer, it flips onto its back, crushing both Batman and the gun.---Someone must be a fan of RETURN OF THE JEDI, because the dog's death was copied straight from the RANCOR PIT.
