Why does WW need her bracelets?

    Like This Thread!
Well, why does she? In "Paradies Lost" "Brave and the Bold" and "The Savage Time" she's shown to be pretty much invulnerable, I mean in "The Savage Time" she got run over by a war wheel, big spikes included. I don't think she needs her bracelets to protect her from bullets and stuff. I know she uses them to deflect lasers and stuff, but still. They should have left her vulnerable, I mean is she that way in the comics?

Its tradition and Amazon fighting technique ;_\)
and there is a difference between super tough and invulnerable.
at least the bracelets absorb the impact which is still a problem for Superman.
frankly I didn't like Perez giving her superman level powers. It made the WW Contest and much of her philosophy irrelevant and silly.
I preferred the origincal concept of her as a Batman class athlete equipped with magical "utility girdle" and weapons
in the comics she can still be hurt, shot or cut and has been.

I have a lot of problems with WW's JL design. I would, make her vulnerable, keep her flying so she can get around with everybody else, make her lasso tell the truth, and I don't know if I would give her super strenght or not.

I sorta agree with TDK. It confuses the heck out of people to see her survive everything, and then be told "She's not invulnerable". The JL isn't all made up of gods, for pity's sake. If Wonder Woman, Flash, GL and Batman are all pretty close to human, show us the scrapes and bruises!

I can understand their reasons for powering down the lasso.
it would be to easy to use to solve problems.
if it were up to me (its not and I know this will never happen)
no super powers but natural batman class strength and skills with magical tools to augment them.
Mercury wing sandals for flight.. the belt and bracelets for superstrength. boomarang tiara
dump her america flag suit and use her golden armor from kingdon come or something similar
(without WWII and the Wonder Woman Contest, that bathing suit doesn't make sense)
and give Diana the Hawks Museum Curator role and have her using the variety of antique weapons arsenal
no invisible jet but she has Pegasus for long distance travel
The Amazons would be very advanced, combining magic and science. (but amazons would have little reason to develop jet technology to get around on an island)

I have mixed feelings about the lasso. I understand why is doesn't tell the truth, and in am kinda glad it doesn't, but yet it made her unique. The way she is now she's just like Superman, except she doesn't groan and moan a lot. And don't even mention Supes and WW fighting in "Paridise Lost" I thought that was redicules.
