    Mulitple Story Arcs

    Like This Thread!
The longest multiple story arcs we've ever seen in BTAS, STAS etc. is 3 episodes. Wouldn't it be better if they were longer? Personally I thought the ending to World's Finest was very rushed. Disney Afternoon Cartoons Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, etc. all had story arcs that were 4 to 5 episodes long. It allowed for more characters and better story telling. Anyhow that's just my two cents.

Yeah, I think a five day story arc would be really good. The Disney Afternoon cartoons you mentioned only had the 4 day story arc as their first episodes which were done as two hour movies. Gargoyles had a five day story arc as their initial story that played out as half-hour episodes from Monday-Friday of its first week. And I thought that story was very well done.

Barring a week long story arc, I'd like to see them having a story thread that runs in the background for most of the season, with the last two-parter of the season wrapping that thread up.

    Those were the days

Oh don't get me started on the show list from The Disney Afternoon's life! Anyway, of course I think it's clear the longer the story arc, the better. I wonder why Batman and/or Superman haven't tried it? Different teams, different times?

Multiple long reaching story arcs can be fun when done right, but sometimes all I really want is a random adventure I can sit down to without needing to know what happened in a dozen previous episodes, which is why when I'm in a JLU mood I tend to watch the stand alone episodes rather than the big Cadmus arc episodes.

There was a New Gods story arc in STAS that started in season one and lasted all the way to the finale, although it was broken up by many episodes in between, it was a total of 8 parts.

Also there were many character arcs in BTAS like Mr. Freeze, where each episode he was in added to his overall story.
