Martian Manhunter

I really don't know much about Martian Manhunter (comic version). What is his story and what kind of powers does he have? So far from what I've read from OWAW, I really know nothing about him. Any input would help. Thanks guys.

His name is J'onn J'onzz (Pronuced John Jones) and his from well Mars. After a pluage hit. He lost his wife and daughter. Years after that, he was pulled to Earth in the 1950s. Back around the 1980s (so says JLA: Year One), he, Aquaman (He'll be missed), Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan, the current Spectre), and Black Canrary (the current one) formed the League. He's been a member of very incarnation of the JL. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Wally West), Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Aquaman, and himself formed the current incarnation.

His powers are:
Flight
Super Strength
The ability to control his mass (Able to turn from Soild to air thin and back)
Morphing
Heat Vision
Telepathy

His weakness is fire. That's the reason his heat vision won't show up on JL, because his weakness is fire and it seem weird to have heat vison if his weakness is fire.

The Martian Manhunter made his first appearance in Detective Comics #225 in 1955

J'onn J' onzz (The Manhunters alien name) is pronounced "John Jones":

He is a founding member of The JLA ( and as of the Our Worlds At War crossover) one of only two members technically alive.

The Martian Manhunter posseses vast strength,superspeed, superhuman durabilty ,the ability to fly through telekinesis,telepathy,the ability to alter his shape, martian vision ( a form of heat vision) and can become invisible and intangible. J'onn has shown great resiliency and once beat a possessed Captain Marvel and survived having his head removed by a superhuman Predator (in a JLA/Predator crossover).

His Wife and child died from a plague that killed off the entire green Martian race and was manufactured by Martian madman Ma'alefa'ak or Malefic as he is also known.

There are two races of Martian the green and the pale. The Pale Martians left Mars thousands of years ago to establish themselves as the rulers of prehistoric Earth. But after they took over the planet they caused a catastrophe that hurt the human races natrual evolution (which was the ability for every person to develope superhuman abilities). When the Green skined Martians discoverd this they went to Earth and held a trial that resulted in the Pale Martians being sentenced to eternity in the Still Zone (a form of Phanthom Zone).
