Yup, production has stopped, and it's looking like we won't get a second movie, either. The live-action flick is still in development, though.
What's the story with Batman Beyond? I've read how the show & comic have been canceled. And the creative is toying with the idea of a possible second video movie. Has all real production stopped on this?I guess the only Batman we'll be getting in the future is on the JLA series. I hope that's enough!

I can't believe they would cancel this show and put out another live action after the last two flops. Oh well, know where I can the series on tape or DVD?
It's not cancelled. WB originally ordered 52 episodes, and that's what they got, they just never put in an order for more episodes. This is the end of the original run of the series, and no additional eps were ordered - thus it wasn't cancelled, just not renewed.Originally posted by ShadowsofBlack

I don't normally run my mouth before assessing and exhausting other resources, but just the very mention of the word "cancel" supercedes my usual logic (which isn't that logical in the first place) Time to start making inquires to WB. Thanks again ClayFace. I'd love to see Terry fight you and Inque at the same time.
If you want an example of a cancelled show, SUPERMAN was cancelled. WB halted prduction of the show after 54 of the 65 episodes were produced.

That would be so awesome! Can you imagine it?? Man, that's a line-up I'd love to see. It would be cool if the two could meld together somehow to create a super-shape-changer creature - just imagine the possibilities!Originally posted by ShadowsofBlack

I was curious, if production is halted on a show (say Batman Beyond) and another network picked them up (say Cartoon Network) would the series air in its entirity or would they simply repeat the previously released ones? (and this from a guy who wants to be in the biz. I feel so ashamed)
Errr... methinks you're a tad confused. When Batman Beyond is picked up on Cartoon Network, they will air the series in its entirity, namely, the 52 previously released episodes. In other words, the episodes we've already seen (besides "Unmasked," which will be out whenever) IS the series in its entirety.I was curious, if production is halted on a show (say Batman Beyond) and another network picked them up (say Cartoon Network) would the series air in its entirity or would they simply repeat the previously released ones?

I'm not sure we understand your question. If CN buys the rerun rights to the ones already made, and then orders new episodes, then CN would be able to air all of them, old and new. Kid's WB, on the other hand, would not be able to air the new ones, though I guess they might be able to air the old ones. Unless, of course, Kid's WB, CN and WB Animation all being part of AOL-TW work something out.Originally posted by ShadowsofBlack

Yeah, #4 tanked with about 107 mill gross, and a 105 mill budget. Somehow, it managed to gross $300 million worldwide, so WB made their cash back. How it made that much I'll never figure out.

Hello. I came to talk. I've been thinking lately. About you and me. About what's going to happen to us, in the end. We're going to kill each other, aren't we? Perhaps later. I just wanted to know that I'd made a genuine attempt to talk things over and avert that outcome. Just once... I don't fully understand why ours should be such a fatal relationship, but I don't want your murder on my ... hands...
