New Background for The DC Animation Forum

Good day everyone,

As you can likely already tell, The DC Animation Forum has received a new background! With the forum upgrade coming, myself and some fellow WF/TZers though it would be a good time to freshen things up a tad. The new background is the result of many toonzone staffers coming together to select a great batch of images of DC Animation past, present and future, all tied together by toonzone member James. Once again, James has outdone himself with a great piece of work.

Can you guess where all the images came from?

I'd like to take the time to thank James and the crew for yet another beautiful background and hope you all like it as much as I do.

I think it looks really cool, best one yet. Though I would've preferred Static's second costume, I think that one is far better.

I can't see the backgroung.Does anyone know why ?

I'm not certain why but I've noticed that problem when I check Toonzone on my laptop versus when I check it at work. The difference there is the resolution on my work computer is better than the resolution on my laptop. So maybe that's why I can only see the dark blue background with small edges of the DC animated background on my PC. On my work computer, I can see the animated background easily.

You should be seeing it. I can see the background peeking out from the far left in your screenshot. The background is only visible along the sides; the middle portion is supposed to be a solid color.

I'm pleased to see that the alternating "I love this one!" / "I'm not wild about this one." background flip-flop continues. It's like the Star Trek movies in reverse; I like the new background when it's changed in an odd-numbered year but every even-numbered year I feel like "This one's not terrible but can't we keep the old one?"

I like how the BG is washed out but not in a way that one single color is dominant. The previous background had a sort of pinkish hue, but this one strikes a good balance among all the panels' different color palettes. I'm particularly taken with the "energy balls" connecting each panel. It adds something new to the old box format.

As for the choices, you always try for as comprehensive a mix as possible, representing different styles and different eras. I love that GL is in this BG, and he's the BATB GL at that.

Do you mean the character to the right of Hal Jordan (The Brave and The Bold version) and below Batman (B:TAS)? If yes, that would be Superman X/Kell-El from Season Two of Legion of Superheroes.
