Was a pretty good issue. Nice to see the origins of Aqualad and Kid Flash. Even though we basically already knew Aqualad's, it was still nice to see it expanded. What I liked about Kid Flash and Flash's origins is that it removes the ridiculous coincidences involved in the main DCU by making only Jay Garrick's becoming Flash an accident.

Even with this new artist I'm still not liking the art. It's taken the look of the show and made it look more cartoony.

Good issue, I liked why they put a reason to Kaldur's mature, because he was in the military at twelve. it was funny how Miss Maritain unknowingly blocked Kid Flash from being alone with her.

Did the same experiment that Jay and Barry got their powers from.

So I guess they don't reveal Robin's origin?

Nope. But we all pretty much know what it is anyway.

I liked the story and the dialogue a lot. Probably my favorite of the books so far. The artwork? Ehh... First read through I thought it was good. When I went back....

The first page is alright minus the fact that in the 4th panel miss m's shirt is missing in the following panels in the kitchen, i found the inconsistensies distracting. One minute her shirt is showing off her middrift, the next it's tucked in, baggy, and showing her suddenly large chest. Her freckles were kinda weird IMO too (seriously, whose freckles are the same color as their hair?!) and her nailpolish sometime disapeared.

I liked KF's design in this issue, especially in the panel where he's experimenting in his lab

the only thing really bugging me is the panel with GA, Speey, Robin and Batman-- seriously, where are batman's arms?!?! He looks half drawn!! There are some other weird moments, but eh.

Story was good. Especially liked KF's version of becoming Flash's sidekick. I think Robin's expressions were drawn really well when KF was teasing him for not being able to tell his secrets

I don't like the art either, but Miss M is the only one who doesn't have to be consistent since she's a shapeshifter.

True, and i guess that's justifiable to an extent, but it shouldn't be an excuse for sloppy art.

Still trying to find batman's arms...

It was a good issue. And I thought the art was great and any mistakes seem to be the result of a few coloring errors. Can't wait to see how part two unfolds and I really can't wait for Greg Weisman to start writing the book.

Would any care to give me a semi-detailed review/rundown of this issue? I'd really appreciated it.

Wally asks Megan to go camping, and then to make a campfire with smores, to which she agrees. She also invites Robin, Aqualad and Superboy, much to Wally's chargin. After that, they all decide to tell past stories with each other. Aqualad also recounts Ocean Master's battle with Aquaman and what he did to help, which led to him becoming Aqualad. Kid Flash also recounts how Jay Garrick, Barry Allen and himself got their powers. And the Superboy says how when he was in the tube he was fed information on destroying Superman... the end.

A few questions since I didn't have the opportunity today to pop in the shop.

So Aqualad's story is an extended version of Topo's story with all involved appearing (Aquaman, Kaldur, Garth, and Ocean Master) and from Aqualad's POV?

For each of their stories, did they address it as "X years ago..." or is it kept vague?

BTW, what was the title of the story?

    That would be correct.

For Aqualad, the battle with Ocean Master happened when he was 14, but his story starts when he was 12. For Wally's story, regarding Jay he simply says "during the 40s" no specific time is given. No time is given as to when Barry and Wally got their powers.

BTW, what was the title of the story?
    "What's the Story?"

Cool. The Aqualad one seems the only one we needed info on, since I think the others were revealed via Ask Greg. Thanks for answering my questions, suss2it.

Best issue so far IMO, I really enjoyed reading Wally West's origin.

Shame we didn't get Robin's origin.

I forgot to ask. Did they also name the city in Atlantis that Kaldur is from or was it just shown?

Given the references they like to add in between him and Garth, I'm guessing Shayeris, the capital of the Hidden Valley and birthplace of Garth in the comics. But then again, there's a lot of places in Atlantis.
