Actually, it looks like iTunes pulled Planet X, Shazam and Chill from their store.

Was it just me or did they make Batman's costume darker than usual?

Chill of the Night, simply the best episode of Batman: The Brave and The Bold done in the dark way of Batman: TAS. Great job Paul Dini and excellent voice acting.

If anything, this was probably even more darker than your average Batman: The Animated Series episode.

    Spoiler:
The body count in this episode is much larger.

the shade of blue was darker to reflect the darkness of the story and atmosphere. It's too bad theres not too many other colour changes they can due that reflect the toness of the episode. I suppose they could have done this for the deadman episode and any other episode that is somewhat dark. That would certainly be an interesting way to demonstrate which shows are more comedic (similar to the Teen titans japanese and english intro) but most episodes from the series end up being more comedic or at least light-hearted so I'm not sure how well that would work.

I noticed his cape was highlighted with dark purple which was a bit strange. It was understandable when he was in lounge etc. but it was also purple at other times. I also noticed how
    Spoiler:
    alfred's
shadow didnt work quite so well with the shadow of the wall when he walked away from the door. But that's something insignificant.

Again my favourite episode. and I was pretty happy with the previous captain marvel episode too.

    Spoiler:
edit: But what about ROTJ. Joker had of killed tons of people with his satellite laser but mind you, they were deaths that arent shown. I could also think of over the edge where batgirl, batman, and comissioner gordon dies but of course it was a dream. Still dark though and was written by paul dini too :P.

    Chill of The Night
    Spoiler:
This is by far the best episode so far in the series. It covered everything that makes Batman such an enduring character in pop culture

I was very emotional when they showed the origin of Batman at the beginning of the episode . Paul Dini did a phenomenal job in writing this episode .

In this episode Batman was the Dark brooding, Dark Knight we all know and love. That confrontation with Chill followed by the unmasking revealing the face of Bruce Wayne for the first time in this series was sensational .

I loved having Batman : The animated series voice cast - Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill & Richard Moll in this episode . Adam West was awesome as Thomas Wayne .

The Teaser with Zatanna was very fitting since Dini loves the character .
Having Jennifer Hale reprises her role as the Mistress Of Magic from Justice League Unlimited was nice added bonus.

    I loved Poison Ivy's character model .

"Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... A DARK KNIGHT...." Commissioner Gordon

    Anyone else notice that when
    Spoiler:
    Batman dressed as a priest
leaves the hospital into the alley, the background that the animation is on still has a shut door, so he ends up slamming open the door to reveal... another door! Which he then phases through.

Looks like someone forgot to move the computerized coloring along with the door,.

I love looking for and reading about double-takes. Any chance TZ will bring that section back?

The first person who brought up the body count was comparing it to BTAS. Plus it's not really fair to compare an unrated PG-13 movie with a G rated cartoon, but either way I think BatB still has more onscreen deaths; Bruce's parents, Joe Chill's boss and Joe Chill himself.

Speaking of, the look really reminded me of Father Michael Stromwell from BTAS "The Forgotten" in the Dock Street Mission or "It's Never Too Late."

yeah but times change. The guys who began working in btas are now doing BATB and they know that if a story needs to be told this dark, they'll get convince the higher-ups to give them some slack. They're experienced, and people will trust them to tell the story.

I agree with that, I never not trusted the creative team.

They were on iTunes and Amazon as of March 2 (when I bought "Chill of the Night!") but it appears that WBA managed to get them to pull the 3 episodes off so if you haven't bought it, you'll have to wait until March 26 when the new run of episodes begin.

If you own a Xbox 360 and you have live and some Microsoft points, you can watch them. All three episodes (The Super-Batman of Planet X!, The Power of Shazam!, and Chill of the Night!) are still on there, too. I assume that's the same with Playstation 3.
