A small, but fan IMPORTANT, idea for JL

Hey gang!

I've had this idea ever since Justice League premiered and we've seen Batman in the Batcave.

Bruce Timm has already said that there's going to be small references to other continuity in the second season, so I dont see why this idea of mine couldn't be produced. It's such a BIG PLUS for fans at such a small price.

Okay. We've seen Batman in front of the Batcomputer like three of four times now. Ever since that's been happening, I've always thought to myself "Why can't they show Robin next to him?" or "Why can't Alfred come up behind Batman and hand him his dinner?"

Now, I'm not saying they should have any lines, but think about it. Besides Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, we, the fans, have not seen Robin, or Alfred (for even longer) for the longest time.

If we're going to keep seeing Batman in front of his computer, I don't know why the animators can't just throw in Robin training in the background or Alfred working around the Bat computer too, just so the fans can see them and know they're still there, and for that brief moment while we're in the Batcave, feel like it's Batman the way it used to be all over again.

Heck, show Batgirl and Nightwing too. And have Batman tell them "The League needs me. Don't wait up." and they just look and shrug and go back to whatever they were doing before.

They don't have to have lines, just make them visible for two seconds and fans would love it.

Do the same with some of the other heroes too.

Have Superman get a call for help from the JL in one episode while at the Daily Bugle. Lois is in front of him. He says "Gotta go", and she says nothing.

But at least for that moment, we saw those old characters again.

Well, that's my idea any ways.

You know, I wouldn't be opposed entirely to that idea. However vehemently I have, in the past, said that I want each character's world to stay seperate, I wouldn't mind having another glimpse of the Daily Planet and Clark disappearing on Lois or Bruce saying to Alfred "Don't wait up." But for some reason, (and maybe this is just me not being a fan of Batgirl,) I wouldn't want to see her on screen. Alfred? Yes. Robin? Yes. No Batgirl. She's just so (and I am using a technical term here) *blech* and thinking about what she might be doing at the Batcave bothers me.

But that's actually a compromise I'd be willing to make. Just a quick glimpse like that sounds like a perfect way to add to the characters and appease fans.

I'll go for it.

I agree 100%!!! Not only is that a great idea, but it would be so quick, and subtle, that it wouldn't break Timm's rule of continuity references getting in the way of great storylines!

And, like you said, who said that the characters' brief appearances have to have anything to do with the storyline? Just show Alfred in the background, dusting the Batmobile, while Batman is in his cave and at his computer talking to the other JL members in the Watchtower, etc.

Why can't Timm & Co. do this? It's so simple!
