same here, i was going to wait a while but now i really have to buy it![]()
Well, Batman is being premiered next weekend so hopefully there will be some Wonder Woman pics leaked then!!!! Can't wait!!!!
Actually, since they've done this twice before, people there will get to see the sneak peak documentary to it. The one that we'd be getting on the DVD. The question is, though; will we get the sneak peak online before then?
Perez? I WAS RIGHT!!!!! Then again, anyone else who read that synopsis last year would have figured out it was going to be based on Perez back then. But on the casting: man, I cannot wait to see a more DCU animated version of Hippolyta, Ares, and the first animated version of Artemis! Alfred Molina and Rosario Dawson? Spidey 2's dock Ock and Sin City's Gail? Man, this is looking cool. The on;t thing that isn't cool? The 2009 release date. I would want this right......now. Okay, after Gotham Knight, but still 2008. That's the only one that isn't cool. The World's Finest has learned additional cast and crew information for the upcoming Wonder Woman direct-to-video news.
Addition casting info is included as part of a bonus feature on the Batman: Gotham Knight DVD release. The bonus feature looks at the upcoming direct-to-video Wonder Woman animated project. The additional casting reveals that Alfred Molina will play Ares, Virginia Madsen will play Hippolyta, and Rosario Dawson will play Artemis. Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion were previously reported as playing Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor.
Wonder Woman, the fourth direct-to-video DC Universe animated feature, is written by Michael Jelenic and directed by Lauren Montgomery, and is based on the legendary 1987 George Perez Wonder Woman relaunch.
The movie, slated to be rated PG-13, will be available Spring 2009.
Stay tuned for future updates.
Feels like I'm reading the cast information for some big screen movie
So how do the storyboards on the Gotham Night DVD look, Bird Boy? What influences do you see in the character designs?
I'm still waiting on who'll be the voice of The Cheetah.
Who's to say that Cheetah is even in this movie? My guess is going to be NO, basically because my luck isn't that good!! Just a glimce of Cheetah would make the whole movie worth it to me! She's my favorite! I think it's going to be awesome anyways using Perez as storyteller. I just hope Wonder Woman looks beautiful and strong and NOT like she did in New Frontier. We'll just have to wait. I hope to see more next week when the preview comes out. No actual animation, but at least some storyboards. I hope they AT LEAST show character designs!!!!
I'm pretty jazzed about this news too. Although I've had enough of Molina Mania in recent years and would prefer a fresh, newcomer to attempt Ares. Hopefully, they'll filter his voice a bit.
I'm surprised Artemis will be in it, but they may be gearing up for a trilogy of DTVs. I can't see why they wouldn't. The first one will obviously center on Ares and Diana's origins. The second would then likely center around Cheetah and Circe, leaving the third open for a take on the death of Diana storyline. Admittedly, not my favorite Wonder Woman story, but clearly something they're interested in leaving the door open for.
I don't think its for a WW DTV trilogy, I think its more because the first arc "Gods and Mortals" had plot threads that didn't get concluded until later, and the secon tribe of Amazons, the Bana-Mighall that Artemis is part of, was one of them. I think they're talking all the arcs and plot threads and condensing it down onto one story. That makes the more sense.
I don't see how the first plot - Ares trying to start a nuclear war - in any way involved the Banas or Artemis.
It doesn't, but it was an unresolved plot point from the first arc that wasn't concluded until later. But this storyline, while based on "Gods and Mortals"< will be changed somethat. The leaked official plotline revealed that Ares is freed by the Amazons, and it must be the Banas. Either that, OR, Artemis is just there as a friend toward Diana. But that line that it is the Amazons that free Ares makes me think its both of what I said (Banas, and Artemis as Diana's friend).
The World's Finest has confirmed that Christopher Drake (Batman: Gotham Knight, will provide the score for the upcoming Wonder Woman animated feature.
Stay tuned for more Wonder Woman news!

The-Trades just post up a first-look image at WW:
I think the nose is a bit too long or off for the face. Everything else looks pretty good though.

Pretty much what I expected it to be: just like Superman Doomsday, they took the general design that was the JLU/JLU/Timm version of Wonder Woman and made her different and new, just like Superman was. Can't wait to see more!
She kind of looks like Laraine Newman.
But not a bad job overall.
