This magazine should arrive in the UK tomorrow. I just watched the movie yesterday and read the graphic novel at Christmas, so I'm hyped for this.

Wow, this came out yesterday and my local comic shop was already sold out when I went today! The owner said he called in to get more, but it was already totally sold out.

Called another store and reserved it[Two copies left!!]. Look for a review tomorrow.

Awesome issue. If only we were getting another! The Wonder Woman/Black Canary segment was campy at times, with weaker art to boot, but the part with the burning breastplate was hilarious; that saved it for sure. The other two stories were very good... though why was "The Greater Good" also called chapter 10? Is there a chapter missing from The New Frontier? There wasn't the last time I checked. And who was the reporter called Gloria at the end? Those sort of things went over my head.

Very fun issue! I wish Darwyn hadn't slipped into the trap all other writers fall into when they write Batman internalizing... it always ends up reading like a Frank Miller riff. That aside I like how he skipped between Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman with the dialogue.. I really liked how it takes a second for each to register which was a neat touch. The artwork was beautiful... absolutely on par with his usual stellar quality. I'm surprised Darwyn's little signatures weren't removed from some of the pages though! Solid work on the whole!

I do hope we get a more in depth look at all the artwork that went into the film in the future. I definatey felt short-changed getting the itty bitty little character models of all the characters... would have liked them to have been a little more in-depth than that. Getting a look at the storyboards was very very cool. It was neat to see that Dave Bullock boarded the Superman and Lois scene... I assumed it was Darwyn's boards while watching the movie.

All in all this special's definately worth picking up!

I have to wonder what Superman was thinking when he signed the registration act in this continuity. The president knows about Martha, suggesting that his identity as Clark Kent is public knowledge. I always assumed he signed it under the name of Kal-El, but apparently he's stupid... Not that Batman's any better at concealing his identity in the world of The New Frontier. Somehow, Catwoman knows.

Batman, Wonder Woman and Black Canary were waaayyyy out of character in the third segment. Not that it was bad; I liked it, like I said before.

Personally, I thought it was great to see the New Frontier world revisited. I loved the first two stories and the movie feature. I wasn't too fond of J Bone's Wonder Woman depiction though.

Have not gotten a chance to get it yet, from what I read previously The New Frontier Vol. 1 and 2, and your opinions on this book, makes it worthwhile a read.

I made this my Pick of the Month over on the Comic Book Culture forum and I'm really glad I did. I was not disappointed. The thought the main story was really excellent and I like how it actually added more to the original DC: The New Frontier story. The second story was a nice Teen Titans like ride and the third and final story was really funny. It was also the weakest but I thought that the story was fun and I really like J. Bone's art in general and he did good here. David Bullock did a nice take o the art for his story but the main story is just my absolute favorite. It was like discovering missing pages to the original DC: The New Frontier. The opening page was also really funny and a not-so-subtle slight at DC's current Multiverse/number universe format.

I'm a huge fan of the original New Frontier comic, so I was a little bit concerned that this might just have been a cheap way to cash in with a DVD tie-in that might not have been up to the standards of the original comic. Luckily, nothing could have been further from the truth. The Wonder Woman - Canary story wasn't particularly good, and the art and characterisations felt very out of place, but the first two stories were very enjoyable, particularly the showdown between Superman and Batman, which I think a lot of fans felt a little short-changed about having been relegated to a newspaper headline in the original comic.

I finally got a chance to sit down and read this, and I thought it was a heck of a lotta fun.

I think my favorite part of the entire book is the segment on the first page w/Rip Hunter. A quick, clever read with superb composition and body language. And not that I'm anti-continuity or anything, but I loved the jab at the expense of the new DC Multiverse.

I didn't get that Superman's identity is known to the general puiblic, just to the government, or perhaps just the president himself. I thought it played as great juxtaposition to the following page showing the reader who Superman and Batman have shared their respective secret identities with (ie: Superman with the President of the United States and Batman with a cat burglar).

I also loved the comic book covers featured in the fake house ad. The John Henry cover was especially well done.

So... Wonder Woman actually beats up Hugh Hefner, huh? Well, I guess it was bound to happen some day...

I really enjoyed the intro and Darwyn's first story. I haven't gotten around to reading the middle story, but the third one was cute. I have to agree with the intro--who the hell cares about these multiple worlds, etc...it's FICTION. Different writers add new things and their own spin on the characters, why feel the need to over-complicate that and further alienate casual readers like myself (and the vast majority of people who aren't reading at all)?
