I'm pretty sure it was like this way last week. Fosters stole batman's spot. Not an addition I prefer, but I cant Judge it, Alot of people seem to like Fosters. I just dont like Batman's move to the morning, I prefered all my favorite shows later in the morning. Now I'm forced to wake up early to watch Batman.
Bow before the Almighty Bojingo. Your shoelaces will be mine. Then once all the shoelaces in the world are in my possession, all sports will be ruined without shoelaces. Without sports to entertain everyone, everyone will lose sleep, then everyone will go to work grouchy and there will be UTTER CHAOS!!! I WILL RULE THE WORLD!! I will release my army of Vicious Starfish! the Wicked Clowns shall annihiliate you all! *evil laughter*

A typical above average The Batman epsiode. The action sequences were thrilling and having the Clocktower as the backdrop was an interesting choice. Very smooth, quick and fast paced animation. Selina Kyle, I liked very much. Remarkably reminiscent of her rendition in TLH. Her dynamic with Bruce was interesting but only because we know Catwoman and Batman and their history together. I don't think it was played well enough to keep newer Bat-fans interested...Though I will look forward to their encounters together and possibly a revelation of identities too...Not expexting it anytime soon though. They will stretch it out...probably keep up this secret identity thing so long that we'll be bored of it...

But, on the other hand, There's something to be said for the mystery. I've always felt BTAS "outed" Selina too early, and she was always cuffed and restrained in every subsequent episode of the series.

Selina, suprisingly, gets the love she deserves!!!!!

I agree with the last poster, BTAS BOTCHED!!!!! Catwoman/Selina, at the end of her first BTAS story she was cuffed and relinquished of her secret identity WTF, I repeat WTF!!!!, from there on in her presence in BTAS could be summed up with one word MUTED!!!!, except of course for the excellent "Catwalk" episode. TNBA didn't fare much better either with only 2 appearances by the Feline Fatale (Who could now be seen with a figure much less soft and curvy and an almost year one style haircut) one in which she started flirting with Nightwing (NOT COOL!!!!).

I guess the really hard thing for the creators is trying to place a highly sexualised relationship, Bat and Cat, into a tv show that is, at least in the mainstreams perception, for kids, I mean lets face when the Bat and Cat fight/chase it is more less a metaphor for sex, it is their sex, their mating dance and it's pretty kinky stuff.

Anyway, I'm really suprised at how well "The Batman"'s creators have handled Catwoman/Selina so far, considering the rather lame approach to many other classic villians, she's encountered Batman three times and escaped each time, plus now she's got something started with Bruce, and still neither is aware of each other's identities, all I can hope for now is that it builds to a satisfying climax, but I'm still terrified the creators may just cop out in the end.

    THOUGHTS?????

This was a good episode, yes - the interplay between Batman and Catwoman has improved over the more strained attempts in the past. If Ragdoll got more of an origin, I would've liked the episode more, however. Who does his voice, anyway? It sounded familiar.

And for some reason, he reminded me of the Darkwing Duck villain "Paddywack"; anyone remember him?

I liked this episode for many of the reasons already stated. I also loved the fight with ragdoll, it was good to see him pretend he was in pain at first to throw bats off. I also liked the Bruce and Selina thing. Bruce genuinly liked selina and she really disliked him(maybe it was the nachos) but she has a thing for batman.

So... Did you happen to be up anyway, or did ya tape/Tivo/DVD it?

As for me... I actually didn't sleep last night, so I was up, (I had it programmed to record so I could sleep in, but, since I didn't sleep...) I don't know why I didn't sleep. Maybe it was thinking about the next season of JLU and Batman vs. Dracula tidbits revealed yesterday got me so excited I just couldn't sleep!:anime:

Oh, and I liked it. It's becoming apparent to me that The Batman has a pattern of doing filler episode, (Ie episodes that aren't that important or memorable,) between the pretty good episodes, (JTV, Laughing Bat, Cat Bat and Very Ugly) and the REALLY good episodes, (Meltdown, Riddled, and some promising stuff coming up.) True, it's different from BTAS's pattern, (which tried to make every ep count, even though it failed to do so here or there,) but as long as the lighter, action filler eps are enjoyable and entertaining, as this one was, I have no qualms.

So in that respect Phantasm, I agree it was a "Standard The Batman episode." Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I didn't know the timing had changed.Got up early because I was just too eager to continue reading HP and was browsing through the channels when The Batman caught my eye.

    But really, 8?!
Getting up that early isn't going to happen very often under mundane circumstances. So yeah, I'm guessing they will lose a lot of viewers.

Well, sad sacks like you, and me, and other adults who need their beauty rest. Kids won't be phased. If kids care about something, they'll be up. Saturdays are the only days kids are willing to get up early, to watch their toons.

Shoot, I remember in the glory days when Fox kids was still airing new episodes of BTAS, Spiderman, and X-men concurrently, I'd get up like at five in the morning even though the shows didn't start till seven!

Jeff (Glen) Bennett. He has an obscenely long voice resume, including major roles in Gargoyles and Looney Tunes, but I recognize his name from Johnny Bravo.

Ragdoll sounded a bit like Squidward (same VA?)
These bankers hrs are killing my wkds! I actually woke up at 8 this morning out of weekday habit.

Anyway, I did catch this ep, and I must admit, it was fun to watch. I liked Ragdoll's design...and the "hot potato" game in the 3rd act was thrilling.

Nice to see we're going to get some more Bruce-Selina stories before the unmasking.

"Selina Kyle is a facinating creature. Could be there's more to her than meets the eye." - Bruce Wayne

I gotta admit, I was not that big of a fan of Ragdoll. The whole contortionist gimmick was just a little too much for me. I didn't hate him, and I'm not going to put him on my "villians I never want to see again" list under Cluemaster review, but if he doesn't show up again that'd be okay. Is it just me or did Ragdoll look like Farmer Brown when his mask was off?

I did like the development of the Batman-Catwoman/Bruce-Selina relationship quite a bit though. This has the potential to be very interesting as the series progresses. I liked how Bruce and Selina did a lot of the same thing to advance the agenda of their masked counterpart. The double costume change was a cool mirroring effect that was done very well.

There's not too much for me to say about this episode, but the end fight was insane. I thought it would never end and every step was so well storyboarded...it was crazy. At that point I didn't care about the plot...but man oh man did the visuals please.

This was, what, Catwoman's third appearance? And for once I like her. I want to avoid comparing her to the BTAS version because they are clearly very different people (although that charity thing did remind me of the animal activist Selina Kyle). Anyway, her dialogue wasn't annoying and she was more fun (as Selina and Catwoman) than her previous appearances. Ragdoll was...eh. His style fit into the show well, but now that I'm thinking about it, I can't recall anything he did that struck me as cool or memorable.

All I can say is it's a good thing this Batman isn't concerned with finding out Catwoman's identity.
