    NO NO NO NO!! ARGH!
    ##%"#!!!#"!"&%%! (!!!!!
Some dude tried to fix my ****ty computer because of some reoccuring problems in it, and when removing one driver to install another, more problems came up and my 60 HD would not cooperate with my 20 gig HD. And because of my !"!#¤#(#!&! OLD mother board another discmannager had to be put on it and therefore all tha data on it had to be copied into another computer. It whent well but something must have gone wrong cuz the MOST IMPORTANT thing on my entire computer was deleted!!!!!

Can you guess what was deleted??
YES ! it was my entire Batman Beyond collection!!! plus all of my anime!!!!!!!!!

All that DL'ing for no good!! ::starts to cry helplessly::

    FEEL SORRY FOR ME! *wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh*

...one good thing is that the guy, knowing that it was my most important thing on my puter, has promised to DL all the eps for me again, since I don't have broadband internet anylonger and some other dude promised to DL all the anime for me again.

But I kinda feel my computer is worth 0 now.
Oh where does all deleted data go???I wish I could go there with it!!!

    Re: Totally offtopic sad story

I feel for ya, buddy. I lost A LOT when my previous version of AOL died on me. Everything I had in my download file, not to mention all the email and files I had saved...and my entire list of favorites, including links to animation sites I can't find any more, gone, just all gone in the blip of a mouse click. Comptuers suck, no doubt about it.

Did you also lose your Batman Beyond uncut file? And those sound tracks?

    Thanks for feeling my pain!!

As my brother said "Well look at the bright side. You now have 40 gigs of free space on your computer"

    Ò_o ?

...and then I gave him a beating!!

As for ROTJ uncut and all the soundtracks; they were put on a CD as soon as I got them so they wouldn't be deleted! YAY
...but the reason all the eps weren't burned on CD was because the Burner wasn't working and therfore the source to all the probs!

    computers suck eggs!

but if they totally sucked, then we would have never been able to get ROTJ unedited, these boards..and more importantly, meeting each other..and of course, nobody would have met me..and if you guys didn't meet me..many of you would be w/o avatars!!

hehe..just kidding. But, still, w/o computers.. boy..I don't even wanna think about it..

Yeah, you really have to take the bad with the good. It is amazing for how short of a time computers have been around, people cannot imagine their lives without them!

I rmember when Batman was still on FOX, Fox Kids had these 10 secnd clips from the show. I had about 10 downloaded from the website. When the compc rashed I lost them all...

    Problems suck eggs

I feel all of your pain. I'm currently studying computers because lord knows if problems are annoying now, who knows how much worse they'll get when computers take a more active role in our lives years from now!!

Heck, I couldn't go to the boards for the last two days because NO website would load! My own analysis showed it was the damn cable modem. And I say that unhappily because unlike a dial-up modem, it's the morons at Cablevision who have to fix it for me, because all the operating stuff is in their hands. Don't get me wrong, they're fast with the right computer, but this is a 6 year old computer so it aint happy.

And get this part, that's not even my problem! My problem is, I want to get my hands on all the web design and print design programs that I use, and put them on my lap top (MY computer), but it only has 3 gigs of space on it! And if you don't already know, if you hear updating a system is hard for a PC, imagine 20 times that difficulty to do it to a lap top. I don't even know where to begin! Yeesh.

Of course it never goes away. There are things I lost that I miss quite a bit, even still.

I recently just emptied my hard drive totally as my system was on a gradual decline (the registry was so screwed I was unable to remove or add any programme without illegal operations occurring. The only hard drive I could transfer relevant files (I wasn't going to try uploading to web drive not on my pooped machine) was 40Mb!

40Mb! Goodbye MP3's.... goodbye emails..... Goodbye Mpegs and quicktime mov.....

Actually after reinstalling and segmenting my hard drive (I recommend that to anyone who wishes to keep their programmes and files seperate!!) I felt renewed and happy to have ditched the crap.

That feeling wore off today when I realised I had no MP3's to listen to..... I want my folders of crap back!

I've had outdated computers die on me before. we usually got an affordable computer with more up to date technology. But I feel your pain. we usually keep a computer a few months after it crashes, it always pisses me off when it does that.

To add to my previous post, and to say something about timing, today I discovered that the comic script I'd be working on (72 pages) has all totally vanished from my computer. Where, I have no idea and I was sure I'd made a backup.

I just can't believe it. My empathy for you has grown tremendously Fish!

Oh well, this was indeed a well timed thread - someone up there is laughing at me.

    Coputer woes

I once had an old word processor up and inexplicably die on me, thus killing all my files--including a couple of comic book scripts that I thought I was being smart putting on disk. I ended up using twice as much paper for one set of storyboards--half of it pictures and half text--not to mention having to rewrite every word of dialogue from memory. Though having the sketches before me helped....with the other story, I didn't even have that!

To get even more off-topic, I lost my glasses last Sunday afternon and didn't find them until Tuesday or Wednesday night. They were right in the living room on a table in plain sight--well, not to me, anyway, being horribly myopic. Surprisingly no one else realized I'd lost them, even though I wear them nearly always, and you'd think the sight of me without them would strike my family as odd....

I've lost comic reviews plenty of times, sometimes even before I get them up and online. The worst is having to rewrite a comic review from memory.
